As we celebrate Black History Month, we honor George Washington Carver. Discuss with your child some of the products he made from peanuts, soybeans and sweet potatoes. The list includes: hand lotion, shampoo, linoleum, gasoline, paint, milk, caramels, coffee, salad oil, vinegar, plastic, paper, laundry soap, shaving cream, glue, mayonnaise, charcoal briquettes, ink and insecticide to name just a few!
