Please make sure that your child has the appropriate dress to be comfortable outside. We want our students to reap the benefits of physical activity safely and comfortably. Thank you for your support!

Snow Closures
We have enjoyed unseasonable warm weather as of late; however, it is important that we do our best to convey snow closure information to you as soon as possible. Thompson School District makes every effort to inform you through the media outlets, especially the radio, television, newspaper, and the district website. You may also call the TSD School Closure Line at (970) 613-6788. I encourage you to monitor these outlets for snow closure information. Again, contact the Ponderosa office if you have any questions regarding snow closure information.

The trouble with weather forecasting is that its right too often for us to ignore it and wrong too often for us to rely on it. ~ Patrick Young

School Safety
You may have noticed parent volunteers out in front of the school when we returned from our winter break. They were out there to remind us to be mindful and safe when using the drop off lane. Remember, the drop off lane is right and the left lane is used to exit. And thanks to the parent volunteers for supporting our students.

Information Card Updates

It is important that the information cards for your child be kept up-to-date. This allows us to have the appropriate information to contact you in the event that it is necessary to do so. Feel free to come in to the office at any time to update your childs information card. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing. ~ John Powell

be here! The Schools on the Move Challenge is a program to help increase the amount of exercise students and staff participate in each week. Research shows that daily exercise (at least 60 minutes most days) helps reduce the risk of health problems, increases focus in class, increases student achievement, and improves memory. We hope that all of our students can participate.

Transitional Colorado Assessment Program (formerly CSAP)

The (TCAP) is Colorados standards-based assessment designed to provide a picture of student performance to schools, districts, educators, parents and the community. The primary purpose of the assessment program is to determine the level at which Colorado students meet the Colorado Model Content Standards in the content areas assessed. The TCAP is collaboratively developed by the Colorado Department of Education, the Colorado teaching community and CTB/McGraw-Hill. The 2012 TCAP calendar is attached. The TCAP is important to us because it shares with us important information about what your child has learned throughout the school year and provides valuable information for us to reflect on. Please keep the dates in mind as you plan your Spring travels!
