Write a 200- to 300-word response that explains the following: Based on the article by Fontana (2008), what is the

e motivation for the pptPlex prototype Microsoft is trying to implement in Microsoft PowerPoint ? How might this affect existing Microsoft PowerPoint users and the level of support required by the software? Explain your answer.

The prototype from Microsoft, called pptPlex is very similar to TouchWall by Microsoft. The software that is used with TouchWall is called Plex in which pptPlex uses the same ideas and concepts as Plex. The pptPlex is a prototype plugin for Microsoft Office that allows users to create pptPlex presentations. The motivation beheld Microsofts pptPlex Prototype is to give users more flexibility within their presentations. As stated in the article by Fontana (2008), Microsoft stated on their website, "Plex takes advantage of the natural human capacity for spatial recognition so that users can organize their digital belongings in much the same way that they organize their physical belongings." The traditional PowerPoint presentations are created with slides one after another. When using pptPlex the user will have more freewill of choosing a particular slide during a presentation. With a click of the mouse or touch on the screen, the slide that is chosen would expand using a zoom in feature built into the pptPlex. This software will truly reshape the way user present a presentation. This would also require a higher level of support due the software being a plug-in and not the main program itself, Microsoft PowerPoint. This software will also be very new to many users and may take some time getting use to it.
