Mathematics is the supreme judge; from its decisions there is no appeal. ~Tobias Dantzig
Stopwatch
I
believe
in
the
power
of
technology
as
an
educational
tool.
We
will
use
our
tools
to
both
deepen
our
understanding
of
the
fundamentals
of
Pre-Calculus
and
explore
the
concepts
that
drive
modern
day
Mathematics.
Our
graphing
calculators
will
provide
us
insight
into
the
various
functions
we
will
discover
and
learn
about.
Our
laptops
will
be
used
to
perform
research
on
Mathematical
topics
and
eventually
everyone
will
write
a
report
on
their
favorite
Mathematical
problem
or
topic.
The
stopwatch
will
be
used
in
some
experiments.

name
is
Richard
Hunsperger
and
Ill
be
teaching
Honors
Pre-Calculus
this
year!
This
is
my
first
year
at
this
district
and
I
plan
to
make
it
one
of
my
best.
My
career
in
Mathematics
began
in
high
school
where
many
fantastic
teachers
and
educators
inspired
me
to
pursue
a
teaching
career.
After
graduating
from
CSUSM
with
a
Bachelors
in
Math,
I
decided
to
attend
the
credential
program
and
become
a
teacher.
This
year
in
Honors
Pre-Calculus,
we
will
cover
the
following
topics:
Solving
Equations
Graphing
Logarithms
Trigonometric
Identities
This
class
will
be
both
challenging
and
rewarding!
I
look
forward
to
seeing
all
of
you
the
first
week!
Yearly Project
Technology
e
will
be
using
technology
as
a
theme
for
our
class.
Im
requiring
that
all
students
have
the
following
materials
ready
for
the
first
week:
Graphing
Calculator
(TI-89)
Laptop
(Rented
from
the
school)
ach
year
we
will
do
a
yearly
project
designed
to
give
students
insight
into
the
real-world
applications
of
Mathematics.
This
years
project
is
to
measure
the
height
of
buildings
on
objects
on
campus
using
only
Trigonometric
methods.
Students
will
use
only
a
pencil,
paper,
tape
measure,
and
protractor
to
measure
the
shadow
of
objects
and
determine
an
estimation
of
their
height.
We
will
be
measuring
the
height
of
the
classroom,
library,
administration
building,
and
football
goals.
See
you
all
soon,
-
