The director represents the female character as less powerful towards the male character at the start of the clip. They did this by using a low camera angle from behind the female characters shoulder looking up at the male standing on a higher level. This introduces the audience to show who is in control and allows them to work out the binary opposites of weak vs. strong. You can tell when the female character walks into the room her facial expressions show that she looks scared and anxious. The biggest binary opposite in this clip is the weak vs. strong because you can clearly see that the two characters have been placed at different levels, to show the hierarchy of them but as the clip goes on the binary opposites start to change as the female character starts to unwind and share her plans that she has created. This starts to bring the male character down to her level because she is starting to defeat him and become more powerful. However although the female character is portrayed as having less authority, power, control etc the use of Todorov theory of having an Equilibrium, disruption, and resolution enables the audience to see how the character changes throughout the clip. However in the start of the clip, the male is represented as the stronger character, he over powers her in every way. The camera angles show this because whenever you see him looking at the female character he is always looking down at her. The stereotypical man is being played as demanding and controlling over all females, its not only the main female character he has control over it is also the females on the side as they have a gun pointed at them if they move or speak it shows that they are under his control. This is the binary opposite of strong vs. weak. When the female character is being given instructions she obeys them and does what she is told, this makes the male character feel like he is the king and anyone would do what he says. The way the character has been dressed is a very stereotypical way in a suit, acting like he is the breadwinner in a businesslike approach. Even though he is a strong

character at the start of the clip things rapidly change as he becomes defeated by the female character, she out wins him. This shows the female character simply comes out of her shell and all the interpretations the audience first had are no longer as all the ways she had been portrayed switch completely. The way the female character puts her point across towards the male character is calm, she does it this way so that she is listened to and he plans works to distract the male character from the time bomb. It worked and the binary opposites had totally changed round by the time. Therefore in conclusion this highlight how the two opposing genders started off as being the man in control and the woman being weak to the woman being in control and the man being weak.
