His six sacks and seven tackles for loss led a team that held four opponents to a TD or less and went unbeaten in the M-I. A secondyear starting TE, he had a 24-yard TD catch in Week 1 against Richwoods. The son of Metamora coach Pat Ryan. 6-0, 250/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE LINE THREE-YEAR STARTING interior lineman was team-recognized defensive player of the game in consecutive M-I wins over East Peoria (35-13) and Dunlap (21-7). Had seven sacks, including one in each of the last two playoff games, and led Panthers linemen in tackles. Washington was 36-10 in his four seasons. ACADEMICS: A-B student in honors classes; 29 on ACT WHATS AHEAD: Likely headed to Iowa to study business; possibly done with football. HE WORKS: Stocking shelves at Lindys market in Washington. 6-5, 300/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE LINE TWO-TIME ALL-AREA honoree and one of the top uncommitted prospects in the state. Moved from defensive end to tackle this season and had team highs with six quarterback sacks and 13 tackles for loss. Had 16 sacks over the last two seasons. At TE, he led the Mid-State 6 in receptions (21) for the second consecutive season. WHATS AHEAD: Top four college choices are Illinois, Missouri, Michigan State and Illinois State. Oklahoma, Ole Miss and California were among his numerous other offers. 6-0, 205/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE BACK DIAGNOSED WITH SEASON-ENDING knee injury after Week 6 but returned Week 9. Safety for defense that held seven of 10 foes to 14 points or fewer. At RB was first Pekin rusher to top 1,000 yards (1,026) in 11 seasons. His 16 rush TDs and 18 total TDs were second most in the M-I. Over the last two seasons rushed for 1,760 yards and 26 TD. ACADEMICS: A-B student WHATS AHEAD: Interest from most regional D-II and NAIA programs. 5-11, 180/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE BACK SECOND-YEAR SAFETY had an interception that was one of his two takeaways and was among the Redbirds tackles leaders for the second consecutive season. At RB he rushed for 1,127 yards, 13 TDs and had 15 total TDs. Over the last two seasons he rushed for 1,809 yards, 22 TDs. A two-time JS honoree. ACADEMICS: A-B student WHATS AHEAD: Wants to play in college and has interest across the board INTERESTED IN STUDYING: Business or physical therapy OTHER SPORTS: Track (sprints) VEHICLE: 2002 Chevy pickup TOUGHEST PLAYER FACED: Clage Dodson of Pekin QUOTE: It seems like my whole life has been about looking forward to the next season, the next practice or the next game. 5-9, 220/JUNIOR/LINEBACKER TACKLES AND INSPIRATIONAL leader and second-year starting LB for Panthers. On the season had six tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and an interception. At FB rushed for 133 yards and two TDs, and kicked a PAT. One of three juniors named 5A all-state by IHSFCA. ACADEMICS: 3.5 GPA; high honors OTHER SPORTS: Track and field (sprints and weights) HOBBIES: Woodworking FAVORITE FOOD: Moms chicken casserole TOUGHEST PLAYER FACED: Kendrick Foster of Richwoods PETS: One dog, a rescued mutt AS A KID: He starred in a short video, Chris Dinosaur, available on YouTube. QUOTE: Anything short of winning state (lost in 5A quarterfinals) is a disappointing way to end the season. Im glad Ive got another one to play.

6-1, 215/SENIOR/LINEBACKER TWO-TIME TACKLES leader also led the Lions in rushing. His nine tackles for loss were second best on Central. Had two TD runs of more than 80 yards against East Moline on the way to 805 rush yards and 10 total TDs. A repeat JS honoree. ACADEMICS: A-B student WHATS AHEAD: Interest from regional D-III and NAIA schools. INTERESTED IN STUDYING: Business, marketing or sociology OTHER SPORTS: Track and field (sprints, hurdles) OTHER ACTIVITIES: Joined City Dance, associated with Carl Cannons Elite program. EAST PEORIA
5-11, 225/SENIOR/LINEBACKER HAD A DOZEN tackles for loss, returned one of three fumble recoveries for a TD, had two forced fumbles, an INT and led EP in tackles for the second season. Moved from guard to fullback for team that rushed for 2,811 yards, 40 TDs in 10 games. He rushed for 476 yards, three TDs and had a TD reception. ACADEMICS: 3.9 GPA; No. 6 in his class; 31 on ACT OTHER SPORTS: Wrestling (220 lbs.; last season 44-1, 2A state runner-up) WHATS AHEAD: Will play rugby, most likely at Notre Dame or Tulane. 5-9, 185/SENIOR/LINEBACKER WENT FROM PART-TIME starting safety as a junior to ILB and the tackles leader for a team that played in a 4A state quarterfinal at Peoria Stadium against eventual state champion Rochester. Had big tackles games in an early season win over Pekin and in a second-round playoff win over Macomb. ACADEMICS: A-B student; honor roll WHATS AHEAD: Interested in studying business or finance OTHER SPORTS: Likely to play with NDs first-year club lacrosse team this spring. HOBBIES: Reading VEHICLE: 2000 Honda Accord FAVORITE FOOD: Pizza from Agatuccis in Peoria QUOTE: Our goal coming into the season was to win a playoff game. We won two. Thats pretty good. 5-10, 170/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE BACK ONE OF THE ELITE among area multi-sport players. Had 5 INTs and 3 fumble recoveries as a corner and safety. At RB rushed for 857 yards, 13 TDs and led Richwoods with 11 catches. Over the last two seasons combined he had 1,909 yards from scrimmage and 25 total TDs, including two on defensive returns. OTHER SPORTS: Point guard in basketball WHATS AHEAD: Indiana, Illinois and Missouri have expressed interest for football. Some say hes a D-I basketball PG in the making. FAVORITE FOOD: Alexanders Steakhouse in Peoria QUOTE: We played for the (6A) state title last year and this year we lost (at eventual state champ Crete-Monee) in the quarters. We did pretty good but you wish there could have been a little more. 6-2, 175/SENIOR/DEFENSIVE BACK RETURNED AFTER MISSING his entire junior season with a knee injury to lead a defensive backfield that allowed seven passing TDs in 12 games. Had five INTs, including one in 5A playoff win over Normal U-High, three fumble recoveries and an 80-yard kickoff return for a TD against Limestone. ACADEMICS: A-B student WHATS AHEAD: Undecided; might play in college and study engineering. OTHER SPORTS: Basketball, track and field (sprints, jumps) HE WAS OFFERED: The opportunity to go to Hong Kong last summer as a model for Hollister clothing but could not because he wasnt yet 18 years old. FAVORITE FOOD: Orange chicken from Chinese Wok QUOTE: Missing my junior season helped bring into focus what I wanted to do as a senior.
