SPIRIT WEEK Objectives: To investigate about the Neurological Revolution of the 60s.

f the 60s. To recap Historical moments in that decade in the United States and how those ten years have changed the way we live our lives daily, at present. To re-live, in a sense how many people had dressed in those times. To build their own interpretations, conclusions and models of the 60s To produce happy children creatively working as a small community. To identify themselves to Super Heroes and Disney characters. To research origins of their favorite characters, distinguish their cause, and abilities. To develop their analytical, speaking, and critical thinking competences. To have fun within institutionalized limits. To instill young citizens, who can think for themselves and take responsibility of their own learning experience.

Technique: Students democratically decide amongst 7th, 8th, and 9th grade ideas. Ss. Vote eliminating choices until they select only four of all their notions. Tr. Explains by modeling how Spirit Week can be carried out. Tr. Sets parameters with each day, starting Tuesday September 25, 2012 and ending on September 28.

Sept. 25 (THE 60S) Students arrive to school dressed as one could have dressed up like in the 60s. In class, each student can briefly talk about what data they obtained about those ten years. They can say why they decided to dress as they did. Then, concisely, students can talk about their favorite part of that decade. Sept. 26 (Super Hero day) Students show up to school dressed up as their favorite Super Hero. In class, they convey why they have chosen their Super Hero, chat about their powers, their qualities, how they relate to them, their origin, and values. If enough time remains, we can have a costume contest internally. Winners win candies or chocolates. Sept. 27 (Disney Day) Student come to school looking like their favorite Disney character. In class, students, converse about why they like their character, their history, how their archetypes have continued to stay in the minds of millions, their story, their principles, and how they coincide them their characters. Given enough time, a Disney outfit contest shall take place. Sept. 28 (Pajama Day) For Free Friday, students have the option of finalizing our Spirit Week in their pajamas or their regular clothing. Students can bring their pillows so that when they watch their audio visual in class, can sit on the floor comfortably as they answer their questions in their notebooks.
