When?
Wednesday, April 24, 8:45 -11:15 a.m. Plan on being here during this time period. There will be time to set up displays before students arrive at 9 a.m.

What is the purpose of this event?

This is an opportunity for Cottonwood HS students to learn about businesses and resources in the broader community. Often students are making transitions and developing new interests, whether they are looking ahead to high school graduation or just beginning their high school years. Many of them are looking for part-time or temporary, seasonal work while attending high school and several are seniors who are thinking about full-time jobs after graduation. We also want to encourage our students to find learning and volunteer opportunities during the summer months.

Who are CHS students?

Cottonwood High School has approximately 1,500 10-12 grade students, ages 15-19. We also have 450 9-12 grade students who attend AMES (Academy of Math Engineering and Science) on the Cottonwood Campus. Our fantastic students represent a broad cross section of youth living in the Salt Lake Valley from West Jordan, South Salt Lake, Taylorsville, Murray, Holladay, Millcreek, and Cottonwood communities (and some AMES students live even further away).

How will the fair operate?

During the first 90 minutes of the fair classes will be coming in with their teachers. Afterwards, during the thirty-five minute lunch break students can visit tables and talk to presenters on their own. There will be an eight foot table and two chairs set up for each presenter to use. Please let me know if you need any more space or access to an electrical outlet.

Where will the fair take place?

It will be held inside Cottonwood High School inner court, near the auditorium and lunch area. Enter the high school through the main doors near the flagpole on the north side of the building; once inside turn left, and walk up the short flight of stairs. Straight ahead you will see a large open area. To the right is the inner court.

Where should I park?

Please park in the faculty parking area on the north side of the building. Thank you for your willingness to participate in the fair! Please contact Kristin Garbett, Work-based learning specialist at Cottonwood High School, if you have any questions
