Primary Branch II North Nazimabad Karachi

August, 2013 Dear Parents, On behalf of the academic staff and management of Primary Branch II, North Nazimabad Chapter, I welcome you to the new academic session 2013-14. Your children receive the best education when you and our dedicated teachers work as a team. It is a parents enthusiasm, support and involvement that inspires children to do their best; and a teachers ability to teach what they need to learn. Together we can achieve wonderful things. It is our firm belief that education is an interactive process Regular School Timings: with the child at its center and it involves the teacher and Monday Thursday 8:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m parents. Each has its own importance but it is even more Friday 8:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m important that the whole process is well coordinated. Hence it is crucial that parents be involved in their childs education as equal partners and work together to attain quality. I would like to draw your attention to a few areas that will help in the smooth running of the school. Instep The importance of regularity and punctuality to school can never be overstressed. A child arriving late to school will be noted as tardy. Students noted with three or more tardies in the whole academic year will not be eligible for the highest attendance certificate at the end of the year. A day of absence warrants a note of excuse stating the reason of absence. If your child is unwell please do not send him /her to school as this may aggravate the childs condition. Please note the necessary period of absence for the following infectious diseases: MEASLES CHICKEN POX MUMPS 18 DAYS 21 DAYS 14 DAYS

You are welcome to meet me, or any member of the staff with prior appointment between 8:30-10:00 a.m on week days, to avoid any inconvenience. Appointments can be set up by communicating through your childs lesson diary. Any change of address and telephone numbers must be communicated to the school office as early as possible to help us update our record and inform you promptly in case of an emergency. The school identity card is for the safety and security of your child. In case it is lost or needs to be renewed please contact the school office. Children will be allowed to leave the school premises only with the person carrying a valid identity card. We request you to retain all the circulars sent by the school for ready reference. Kindly read and sign the homework diary of your child daily. Please label your childs belongings. This minimizes loss of water bottles, snack boxes, books, school bags and other property. Please check your child for personal hygiene, send him in clean and proper uniform and check your childs hair for lice and nits on a daily basis. Please send everything with your child when he comes to school. Sending things during the school hours interrupts the school routine and at times things do not reach the child promptly. Please ensure that your childs bag is packed according to the timetable. Please do not send fancy stationery items to school. Steel rulers are prohibited in school as they create safety hazards.

Please ensure your child does not bring any toys to schools without prior notice. Parent Portal provides a way through which you can keep a check on your childs academic record periodically. Parent portal can be logged on by the URL mentioned here. http://parents.beaconhouse.net/

You may also receive updates on school activities by logging onto www.bssnnprimary2.wix.com/blog Kindly note that unexpected closure of school or urgent message that has to be conveyed will be relayed to you through our network service (sms) on students fathers mobile number. Gate Plan Dismissal Time Gate 1 will be used by parents of children going home by private cars. Parents will find their children assembled in the compound area. Gate 3 will be used by private transporters (van, bus etc.) and children using this facility will exit through this gate. This grouping has been made to avoid making trips to two buildings. Health and Hygiene In keeping with our endeavors to maintain a clean healthy environment our school premises underwent thorough fumigation and cleaning of overhead and underground water tanks. A Word of Caution Dear parents the internet is becoming increasingly important in the daily lives of our children. It can be used both educationally and socially and is becoming part of a childs identity. Socially our children are using it for communication with friends. Many children are unaware of the risks in the use of the various social networks available for example by having many online friends (who could be strangers), up loading or receiving inappropriate images and viewing unsuitable content or even becoming addicted to the internet. E-Safety There are several ways to play an active role in promoting e-safety 1. Keep the computer in the family room or any open area of your home. 2. Internet accounts should be in the parents name with parents having control over passwords, and using blocking and/or filtering devices. 3. Talk to children about why you should never give personal information to people online. 4. Let children show you what they can do online, and visit their favorite sites. 5. Have children use child-friendly search engines when completing home work. 6. Talk to children about what to do if they see something that makes them feel scared, uncomfortable, or confused. Remind children to talk to you if they see something that bothers them online. Your support and understanding will help them become responsible digital citizens in society. I wish you all a rewarding and successful school year. Sincerely Yours
