• AA#1 1 pushes out at 8:40 am.
« Sometime thereafter, FA#3, Betty Ong, contacts SRO Agent.Vanessa Winter from aircraft and states that aircraft is
hijacked. Agent Ong reports three men in seats 2A, 2B, and 10B in cockpit and pilots not answering phone. Agent
Ong reports FAs and passengers stabbed. She also reports a mace like substance in the cabin causing difficulty
breathing. First Class passengers sent to Coach.
• SRO contacts SOC Center Manager, Craig Marquis and reports conversation taking place between SRO Agent and
FA Ong regarding hijacking.
AA#1 1 begins flying erratically and descends.
Intermittent contact until impact.
8:45 am RWB tells law enforcement that AA#1 1 is hijacked.
8:45 am Security operation set up at SOC.
8:48 am AA#1 1 , 767, crashes into WTC Tower One.
9:05 am UA#175, 767, crashes in WTC Tower Two.
9:21 am NYC Port Authority closes all bridges and tunnels in NYC.
9:24 am President Bush calls the crashes "an apparent terrorist attack on our country.
9;32am NYSE closed.
9:40 am FAA orders the entire nationwide air traffic system shut down. All flights at US airports halted.
9:43 am AA#77, 757, crashes into Pentagon.
9:45 am White House evacuated.
9:59 am South tower of WTC collapses.
10:00 am UA#93, 757, crashes just south of Somerset County Airport, 80 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. Shortly
before impact, a passenger locks himself in the lavatory and calls on his cell stating that the plane is being hijacked.
Plane believed to be headed for Camp David/White House.
• 1 0:24 am FAA reports all inbound transatlantic flights are to be diverted to Canada.
• 1 0:28 am North tower of WTC collapses.
• 1 2:1 5 pm US closes some border crossings with Canada and Mexico.
• 1 :02 pm Mayor Guiliani orders evacuation of Manhattan south of Canal Street.
