Rules & Regulations

Letter of Consent & Liability Waiver

Newark Illustrated, LLC., Soul Diggaz Productions & Elite Starz presents “Newark
Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition, a new platform designed to find the next rising
star(s) & jumpstart performers on the road to success.

1.Judges will have a point system with which they will judge each ACT. The ACT(s) will
be judged by our panel of judges by the same criteria [musical selection, creativity,
presence and routine delivery]. Judges can override any final decisions.
2.This event is a 2-Part show. The first round is scheduled for August 2009. The Final
show is scheduled for September 2009.
3.PRIZES:

[1] Singer will win 1st Place, awarded $250.00 cash prize. Along with a [1] song demo
deal with Newark Illustrated, LLC., and Soul Diggaz Productions.

[1] Rapper will win 1st Place, awarded $250.00 cash prize. Along with a [1] song demo
deal with Newark Illustrated, LLC., and Soul Diggaz Productions.

[1] Contestant from the Junior Category will win 1st Place, awarded $200.00 and a trophy.

[1] Contestant from the Mini Idol Category will win 1st Place, awarded $100.00 and a
trophy.

Winner(s) will be determined by the ACT’s final overall scores, evaluation, and critic by
our panel of judges.

4.Every ACT that performs in the SEMI-FINALS will be video taped and/or
photographed. The video(s) and/or image(s) will be edited and posted online
electronically via YouTube.com (http://www.YouTube.com).
5.Every performer that performs during any performance must pay the required non-
refundable, non-exchangeable registration fee(s) and sign the RULES &
REGULATIONS. Failure to sign this form will forfeit chances in securing a slot in any
of the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition. All
registration fee(s) are final and non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
6.Removing and/or adding a person from registration is permitted in writing to Newark
Illustrated, LLC. Please note that removal of a person from one’s ACT will result in that
registration fee not being refunded and additional performers must pay the required
registration fee.
7.All performers are to conduct themselves in an adequate demeanor; foul language,
obscene gestures, hate messages and obstruction of the venue’s property will not be
tolerated nor accepted. If members of any ACT conduct their selves in an unruly, loud,
and/or inappropriate manner within the venue(s)’ premises, the ACT will be disqualified
and removed from the premises.
8.ACT(s) must be stationed in assigned seats / area until any of our “Newark Illustrated
Idol” Talent Competition Staff Members notify the time of performance.
9.Each ACT is required to sell a minimum of 10 TICKETS at the going price of said
scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition (This is
required to win and receive full benefits of the prize(s) for the overall best performance.
Failure to sell the required number of tickets and winning said category, prize will be
based upon ACT’s ticket sales). Any lost and/or stolen tickets will not be honored. ACTs
will be required to purchase any additional seats. Replacement tickets are not available.
All ticket sales are final and non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Ticket monies are to be turned in by July 24th 2009.

10.ACT(s) are required to have their music edited for a duration, or length of time, of no
more than 00:03:00 MINUTES. Vocalist(s) and rapper(s) are to have a T.V. track
(instrumental with hook/chorus).
11.If any performance has a gathering of unregistered people on stage during time of
performance, the ACT will be disqualified and/or music will be faded out immediately.
12.ACT(s) and related parties must arrive to the designated venue(s) on time the date(s) of
the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition.
Otherwise, failure to do so may result in being removed from ALL scheduled event(s) for
the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition.
13.All mandatory meetings, if any, must be attended. Failure to do so will result in a [1]
Point deduction from ACT’s overall scoring. To refrain from deductions or points and/or
if one cannot attend all mandatory meetings, if any, manager / agent must contact
Newark Illustrated, LLC. to turn in monies, paperwork and/or music. Attending [1]
meeting and failure to receive contact from any ACT within the next 3 consecutive days
(e.g. Friday, Saturday, Sunday), we will accept your forfeiture in any of the scheduled
event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition; as a result the ACT will
lose any and all monies paid into the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated
Idol” Talent Competition. and time slot(s).
14.It is not the intent to trick or deceive any person(s) that is a participant or spectator of
the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition. The
scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition are created to
give back to our communities and also give all performers a new platform designed to
find the next rising star(s) & jumpstart performers on the road to success.

15.Newark Illustrated, LLC., Soul Diggaz Productions and/or the staff from any of the
venue(s) of the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent
Competition are not responsible for any lost and/or stolen items. Please keep all
belongings, valuables, etc. with you at all times.
16.Any use of unauthorized props (Sparkles, Powder, Backdrops, Promotional
merchandise, etc.) will be grounds for immediate disqualification. No one is permitted to
throw anything from the stage. (CDs, tapes, shirts, people, etc).
17.If any ACT has items falling in error, points will be deducted from your overall
scoring (clothing straps, hair, articles of clothing, etc.)
18.By signing the RULES & REGULATIONS, you, the Manager / Agent, are
consenting to having the ACT being video taped and/or photographed and will not
consent the broadcasting (local cable Television Network or News Paper) nor the selling
of any video production of any of the scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated
Idol” Talent Competition.
19.The scheduled event(s) for the “Newark Illustrated Idol” Talent Competition are
brought to you and presented by Newark Illustrated, LLC., Soul Diggaz Productions
and Elite Starz.
20.By signing the RULES & REGULATIONS, you are aware that the RULES &
REGULATIONS are subject to change at Newark Illustrated, LLC.’s discretion.

simply contact any of the sources provided above and DO NOT SIGN OR PARTICAPTE until all issue(s) are cleared.
