Stage 1 Desired Results Content Standard(s): The students will demonstrate how to use web 2.0 tools in the classroom. Understanding (s)/goals Essential Question(s): Students will understand that: How are web 2.0 tools useful Remind 101 is a tool for inside and outside the communicating with students classroom? outside of the classroom. How can I use web 2.0 tools to Powtoon is an innovative way engage my students? for students to present information. Socrative is a tool for getting feedback from students and checking understanding. Student objectives (outcomes): Students will be able to: Access and utilize web 2.0 tools in the classroom. Use web 2.0 tools in order to engage students. Stage 2 Assessment Evidence Performance Task(s): Create a Powtoon introduction. Take a quiz using Socrative. Stage 3 Learning Plan Learning Activities: Day One o The teachers will participate in a professional development titled: Wowing your students with web 2.0. o Each person will sit with a group and each individual will have a lap top. o We will begin by defining web 2.0. o Then, we will brainstorm ideas about using web 2.0 tools in the classroom. o I will introduce them to remind101, a free texting app for teachers and students. I will have them actually sign up using their cell phones to demonstrate. o Then, I will walk them through creating an account using Powtoon. I will show them the Powtoon I created. Each person will be given time to create their own Powtoon introduction. o We will share the introductions. o Lastly, I will invite each participant to take a quick quiz using Socrative. o I will share the achs media PLN with them in an effort to promote web 2.0 across the school.
