KSK Energy Ventures Ltd Engineer Control & Instrumentation (Projects) 28th May 2009 to till date

Spearheading efforts as Control & Instrumentation Engineer; responsible for Instrument Erection and Commissioning activities. Responsible for initiating, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and completing the project as scheduled and troubleshooting the problems while start ups, running and shutdowns. Handling Erection and Commissioning of the equipments, providing utility services to the equipments for smooth operation.

Coordinating with EPC Chinese contractors (SEDC & CEPCC, SEPCC) and also UBEL, L&T subcontractors for supporting the Erection, Commissioning, operational activities of critical equipments and validating the interlocks wherever applicable. Providing relevant inputs and feedback to the contractor for different activities to achieve the scheduled completion target. Coordinating with Engineering team for reviewing different Engineering documents and giving proper feedback to them. Preparing check list for Erection completion protocol and validating the same during final Erection.

Projects Accomplished:
Project: Wardha Power Company Ltd Title: 4X135MW Thermal Power Plant

TURBINE (DongFang Steam Turbine): Successfully handled erection and commissioning of ETS & TSI (EPRO German make) system which includes 8 speed pick up, two expansions, two casing expansions, 3 axial pick up, 10 shaft vibration and 5 bearing vibration systems. Involved in the erection and commissioning of BFP instrument and commissioning activities Involved in erection and commissioning of the instruments in the cooling water system. Involved in the commissioning activities of HP- LP Bypass system. Commissioned Pneumatic Control valves (Fisher, ABB, and Rotork). BOILER: Handled erection and commissioning of boiler flue gas and furnace instruments. Erection and commissioning of FSSS, MFT, which includes Boiler Ignition & Control system HFO and LDO GUNS, Flame Detection System and SADC Dampers. Erection and commissioning of instruments in ID, FD & PA fan systems.

DCS GE OC4000 v6.3: Manage Erection of DCS panels and installation of DPUs & I/O cards. Handling Data cable termination & networking; charging of DCS Control & Terminal panels. Good Knowledge in designing the Mimic and configuring them in the operating stations.

Familiar with different I/O Stations-Analog, Digital, Sequence of Events (SOEs), ma/v, TC/RTD etc. Knowledge on Network Protocols-TCP/IP, MODBUS, HART and PROFIBUS.

BOP (Balance of Plant): Involved in Erection and Commissioning activities in Reverse Osmosis, Effluent Treatment and Circulating water pump house; good knowledge and understanding of P&I diagrams & control loop diagrams for boilers and turbines. Installation and impulse piping of local gauges, transmitters, control valves for different parameters like Level, pressure, flow and temperatures etc... By following P&I and Hook up diagrams. Good Knowledge on different types of instruments such as transmitters, pr. switches, control valves, RTDs, Thermocouples, I/P converters, flow meters. Having Good Knowledge on Calibration of Flow, level, pressure Transmitters and Control valves. Commissioning of Pneumatic and Motor operated valves.

ACADEMIC PROJECT PROFILES Project Title: Fault Diagnosis and Detection in Power Systems Using Artificial Neural Networks Duration: December 2008 March 2009 Description: Objective of this project is to provide an Uninterrupted and Quality Power to the consumers. Worked on Designing and Simulation Environment of MATLAB (5th Version). Neural Network designs were developed using Neural network tools in MATLAB. A Design has been developed in such a way that Power System gets Controlled and monitored through Neural Network.

Project Title: Load Flow Study Using Tellegen's Theorem Duration: June 2008 August 2008 Description: Objective of this project is to obtain an Efficient Power flow from sending to receiving end with reduced amount of losses. Worked on MATLAB and PSCAD simulation environments. Application of Load flow study in 18 bus and 25 bus Distribution networks.

Extra- Curricular activities & Achievements:

Third prize for event Momentum in All India Tech Fest Competition (Shaastra) held at IIT Chennai. First prize in intra - college Chess competition. First prize in Chess Competition in KSK Urjostav Fest. Achieving of Coal Synchronization of all the four units of 135MW within 12 months at Wardha Power Company Limited, warora.
