April in Bloom

Dear Friends and Family, Greetings to everyone of you from Poland well at least that is where I think I am J I have been traveling so much lately I am not quite sure, if my wallet is any indication, I currently have five different currencies and have discovered that Moldovan coins dont work so well on Polish busesahh the joys of traveling! There is so much I want to share but I am not quite sure where to begin. For the past few weeks I have been traveling through the neighboring countries with the hope of learning a bit more about some current situations that are feeding one of the most disgusting practices on this planet, human trafficking. This trip was put in my heart about a year ago when I met some people visiting my location in Ukraine. They had recently returned from Moldova and shared some powerful stories involving the forgotten generation, those whose parents for many reasons have abandoned them and they have become what people call social orphans. Unfortunately, with the economy and lack of supervision countless children and youth have literally disappeared without a trace. The stories I have heard, the people I have met recently gave me a new found respect on what I have only attempted to do in my own life. There is a principle that states when someone or something is coming against you, instead of meeting it toe to toe, face it in an opposite spirit. For example, while in Moldova we were accused of being too joyful and not taking things seriously. Well, since the joy of the Lord is our strength, what else could we do? We first thought, well maybe we should not smile so much or maybe not laugh so loud. Then it occurred to us that if we chose to fall in line with this approach how could we impact those around us? In a place that was so dark, heavy, and bleak due to the many crimes and victimization wouldnt smiling and laughing be good? YES! Our smiles and laughter was just what the people needed, they needed to see there was a reason for hope, love and peace! So we smiled even more laughed harder and at the end of our time one young lady was so encouraged that we began to see her smiling and laughing with us! Small acts, kind, loving deeds speak volumes. That is what I have been reminded of. May that encourage you today! What are you facing? How can you move in the opposite spirit? Try itit just may work! Next Steps Three nations done, three more to go! I depart from Poland in the morning for Switzerland. I will be teaching in a few locations throughout the nation and then I am off to England and Asia. So far my travels have been blessed and I have quite some stories to tell! Keep praying for the rest of the journey, for safe passage and good connections. Prayer requests Praise God I have received some funds for my moving expenses! I still need to raise $2,200 for moving and about $800 for traveling expenses. Would you please consider praying and giving more to my ministry this month? Also, I will be in the states in January for the sole purpose of raising support for my new ministry plans in Hawaii. I will begin to schedule people and places once I return from my teaching tour. You can help me now by sharing with your church and friends about me and asking if they would like to meet me! My calendar is open and I will be available to share with anyone who desires! Please help me strengthen my home team so that I can be even more effective on the field. Thank you so much for your love, support, prayers, words of encouragement and sacrificial giving. I am truly humbled and honored that you are a part of my team and will continue to remember you in my prayers. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon! God bless! Love, April Harper J

Fountain outside the university in Cahul, Moldova. All the fountains were dry, and several times we prayed for the people of Moldova we saw water, and cleansing. Jesus! Send the rain! The other picture is a my favorite one, two grandmas talking up a storm it was so precious to watch them J

Money from my walletyes I even had an American penny! The young lady in the other photo is a member of the team I traveled with to Moldova. She is normally taking photos not being in them J Please be praying for her and the remaining five members of the team, that God will continue to open doors and provide everything that they need! It was a blessing to travel with them!
