CIRCULAR
NOCET, NTPC Open Competition for Executive Talent, is an organizational learning initiative, which is held in the form of theme based competition every year. This year the theme for NOCET 2013 is, Ensuring Affordable Fuel Security for NTPC The schedule of the competition would be as under: i) Submission of written report By 10th May 2013 (Friday) ii) Unit Level Competition By 15th May 2013 (Wednusday) iii) Regional Level Competition Latest by 31st July 2013 iv) Company Level Competition Latest by 31st August 2013 The Competition will be held at three levels - Unit, Regional and Company levels. NTPC executives are requested and encouraged to take part in this learning experience for development of managerial acumen, building a competitive team spirit, enhancing presentation skills and for widening ones own creative and innovative thinking. NTPC Korba will be nominating the winning team of Unit level NOCET through an Internal competition/presentation which will be organized tentatively on 15th May 2013. The winning team will move to the Regional Round of NOCET to be held at WRHQ-II. All the interested Executives upto the level of E6 are requested to register themselves in teams of 3 or 4, for competition with the HRD Cell, NTPC Ltd. Korba, latest by 05.05.2013 with the undersigned. ANNEXURE-I
A BRIEF ON NTPC OPEN COMPETITION FOR EXECUTIVE TALENT (NOCET) NOCET is an organizational learning initiative, which is held in the form of themebased competition every year. NOCET has been initiated & undertaken to harness the creative potential of young and talented executives to actively participate in Organizational Strategic Thinking Process. This has created a forum through which talent is appreciated by the top management of NTPC. The theme for NOCET-2013 is Ensuring Affordable Fuel Security for NTPC Objectives of the Competition: To develop general management skills. To encourage creativity and innovative thinking. To enhance presentation skills. To encourage teamwork and build team spirit. Eligibility Criteria for Participation: Team consisting of 3 to 4 Executives (not limited to same dept/section) upto E6 level are eligible to participate in NOCET. NOCET GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATION Written Presentation: The written presentation should be typed on bond paper, and should be between 4000 to 5000 words. Charts, diagrams, etc. may be included to support any research work or data collection. The team should also send an abstract of their presenatation in not more that 500 words. Each team is required to submit 5 copies of the written presentation Use of font Arial, size-12, line spacing -1.5, margin-1 each side Contents of the report (sequence to be followed for report): o Title Page: NTPC OPEN COMPETITION FOR EXECUTIVE TALENT Theme: Team members: 1. Oral Presentation: Each team will be given total 30 minutes for the oral presentation as well as the discussion. The first 15 minutes will be used for presentation by any member of the team and the subsequent 15 minutes for discussion with the Panel of Judges and the team members. It is desirable that all the team members should participate in making the presentation. The teams should bring main findings and points in their presentations before the Judges. The presentations would be evaluated by a Panel of Judges formed at the unit level consisting. The decision of the Panel of Judges will be final.
