60 years of Independence - India's achievements Typically speaking, if a person reaches 60 years of age, he is labeled as an "Old Crippled".

One can construe the picture of a man who is bed-ridden, in alid and too old to respond to any kind of treatment. !e "ust lay aside, cherishing its blooming youthful days or he employs his time by playing with his grandchildren, but now the things ha e changed. # would like to narrate you a story about a country which is 60 years old and still ery young, i acious, highly engertic and is working enthusiastically towards its betterment. #t is "O$% CO$&T%' #&(#)". *e ne er know how time sweeps. #ndia was free from the clutches of +ritshers in ,-./. *e still remember those stalwarts who sacrificed their li es to free us from +ritisher0s cage enabling us to fly freely, independently in the air. &ow, for a change # will not again repeat the history of how #ndia got is #ndependence. *e all know and ha e studied umpteen numbers of times about it in our !istory books. *e studied what all "Our 1ather of the &ation""2ahatma 3andhi" did, we all our aware of the 4allianwala +agh tragedy and etc. etc. *e all normally says that +ritshers ruled our country - they e5ploited us . +ut what they ha e gi en us is $&#T'. Though being the only incident , has instilled, infused a spirit of bra ery, dauntlessness, alor into female members. years, #ndia has got its women president 2s.;ratibha (e i ;atik. &ow we all assess her rule, her power what changes she will going to make instead of saying what has to be done , we all seriously hope that she will says what we ha e done 6 *hat makes a country good and great6 - #t is the people, their power of knowledge, caliber, and perse erance. Their highly intellectual minds, (ecisi eness, their open and abo e board dealings with others. ) country is empty if there are no people. *e the people form our 3o ernment, *e the people rule not our li es but the whole life of our stupendous country. *e the people makes or mars the present, future of our country. *e the people mould , shape our country in whate er manner we want to. 9ike, a one person cannot contribute significantly towards the prosperity, success of the country in the same manner it is not in the hands of one person to change it. #t is the collecti e responsibility of all and sundry to make a gloriously bright, radiant future and to be linked together in its weal and woe. *e all know that it sounds the same and hackneyed but as a matter of fact this is the only transparent and solid truth. #t is we the people only who back-bite and says bitchy things about our country, thus this is the ma"or reason why our country is lacking far behind and is depri ed of numerous facilities as compared to others. *e all should become at home in this fact. )s our Country has attained its 60 years of #ndependence and the prime ministers starting from 4awaharlal &ehru to (r.2annohan 8ingh speechifyies about the de elopments that they will do in the fields of agriculture, industry, infrastructure, education etc and the arious measures implemented towards the economic growth of our country. To start, first # am dying to see that lucky day when, # don0t which prime minister will say and point out the de elopments made in these sectors. That their longe ity of speech should not reflect about the planned tasks but about the accomplished tasks - that will be the biggest achie ement of our country. <uite bummed, that so far no one has said so.
