Youthful greetings!


The National Youth Commission is the national government agency responsible for the
development and promotion of the interests of the Filipino youth. Anchored in its vision,
mission, and mandate, the NYC's core services are policy development, coordination of
programs that promote youth participation, and provision of technical assistance to youth
and youth-serving organizations.

The NYC and SCAP have continuously worked on numerous campaigns for the youth, such
as the passage of the Reproductive Health Law, Students Rights and Welfare, Education
Reform, Women and LGBT empowerment.

It is in this regard that the NYC endorses to student councils and student political parties
from higher educational institutions the upcoming 9th National Congress of the Student
Council Alliance of the Philippines (SCAP) which will be conducted on June 19-22, 2014 in
Iloilo City.
