ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hike Today with Bob Rosenberger


All those who plan to join Bob Rosenberger today for the first Hike
of the season please meet in the church parking lot promptly at
12:15 p.m. after services.

Youth Ministry Parent and Youth Meeting will be held this
evening from 7:00 8:30 pm. Youth will meet from 7:00 7:45
pm, while parents can enjoy some fellowship time with Pastor Jim.
Parent will meet from 7:45 8:30 pm, while youth will have games
in the Fellowship Hall.

Meet the Pastor
There is still space open in all three Meet the Pastor sessions:

Oberholtzer Hall. The focus of these evenings will be on how God is
leading us in the area of discipleship, Christian education, and small
group ministry. However, Pastor Jim will take comments and feedback
in any area of church life. Sign-up sheets are available in Fellowship
Hall.

Organ Concert next Sunday September 21
st
, at 3:00 pm!
Virtuoso recitalist Shelly Moorman-Stahlman will play a variety of
classics, sacred, and jazz-based pieces. Some of our church
instrumentalists will open the program, and Pa. State Rep.
Rosemary Brown will welcome the guest soloist to Monroe County.
Admission is free, and reception will follow.

Church Charge Conference
Our annual charge conference will be held on Sunday, September 28
th

at 2:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. District Superintendent Dr. Irving Cotto
will preside over the meeting. Everyone in the congregation is
welcome to attend, but only members can vote. Hope you will join us.

Out Reach

Members of our church family who are no longer able to attend
church are always happy to hear from you. Cards and notes may be
sent to John Kistler, 273 Prospect St., East Stroudsburg, Pa. 18301.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are compassionate caregivers; they share
their care receivers pain and help them bear it. They
embody Jesus promise to never let us suffer alone.
By Gods grace, Stephen Ministers are full of faith. They
bring Christs care to their care receivers and trust God to bring
results. They pray with and for their care receivers, share Scripture
with them, and use other Christian caring tools in their caring

Health Care Equipment
Items available for your use include: walkers, crutches, canes, shower
seats, potty chairs, elevated toilet seats, wheelchairs, Depends, and

Attendance Card Update
Thank you for completing the Attendance Card for everyone in your
family each time you attend church. One card may be completed with
all family member names and placed in the offering plate.
As a result of the Caring Caller process, our staff has been made
aware of situations where members of our congregation are unable to
attend worship services. This type of communication is vital in a
Caring Church. Thanks again for your help!

OPPORTUNITIES

Temporary Weekend Sexton Position
We are currently looking to hire a temporary weekend sexton
for our church. This is an 8 hour per week position and
includes (but is not limited to) the following responsibilities:
open church facility and secure church facility following church
activity as needed. Maintain cleanliness in ESUMC properties
located on South Courtland Street. Set up and tear down
chairs, tables and equipment in rooms as requested. If you
are interested in helping our church in a temporary capacity,

SWAT (Seasoned Workers Action Team)
This group meets every 4th Monday at 9:00 a.m. in the Conference
Room of the Office Bldg. After coffee and a donut, we do odd jobs
around the church until 12 Noon. Anyone with time to spare is
welcome to come. Enjoy the fellowship and help beautify our
church. Any questions, please contact Bob Rosenberger or Bruce
Johnson.

Whats Cookin and Fellowship Dinner will be returning in
October. Whats Cookin meets the second Saturday of each month
in the Fellowship Hall at 10:00 a.m. They will be baking cookies so
bring your favorite recipes to share. Fellowship Dinner takes place
every third Saturday of the month at 5:00 p.m. All are welcome.

55+ Annual Picnic
Picnic will take place on Wednesday, September 17

at the Pavilion

New Exercise Class
The Wellness Ministry would like to introduce a new Strength &
Flexibility Class to be held in the Fellowship Hall on Wednesday
mornings at 11:00 a.m. beginning this week. Class is appropriate
for all levels and all ages; everyone is welcome. Cost is $5.00 per
class. The goal is to work on various stretching exercises to gain
more strength and flexibility. Come out, get fit and have some
fun!

Snack and Drink Donations Needed: The JAM Jr. High
Afterschool Program is always in need of snack and drink

JAM Jr. High Afterschool Program is Back on Thursday
September 18

. Information and Permission forms are available
on the church website (www.esumc.net) and in the youth room.
Each week following the JAM program is there will be a free
Fellowship Meal for all students (from 5-6 pm), followed by Jr. High
Boys and Jr. High Girls Bible studies (from 6-7:30 pm).

Sunday Night Youth Worship will start to meet on Sunday

. This year, youth will be gathering to fellowship,
worship, and participate in biblical teachings from 7:00 8:30 pm

New this YearSports Ministry Night, Sundays 5:30 6:30 pm:
Join with other boys and girls for a time of sports and recreation. Games

Sr. High (Next Level) Bible Study: Meet every Monday
6:30 8:30 pm at Scott and Sarah Kuhnles home.
This is a bible study for Sr. High students (9
th
-12
th
grade) who are
looking grow deeper into their faith, and stronger as a disciple of Christ.
We will have girls and guys combined bible study for three weeks,
followed by girls and guys separate discussions on the fourth week of
every month.
