The Lilongwe Water Board apologizes for no or low water supply since December 7th, 2014 across the city of Lilongwe. This was caused by a power outage at its main treatment facility, which prevented water from being treated or pumped to reservoirs. The Board is working with ESCOM to restore power to the treatment facility so water supply can return to normal, while advising customers to conserve the water they have until full supply resumes.

Lilongwe Water Board would like to apologies to all its valued
customers across the city for experiencing no or low water supply since Sunday 7th December 2014. This has been caused by electricity outage that the Board is experiencing at its main Treatment facility in Area 3. The Board lost electricity supply on Sunday 7th December at around 6:30pm and has therefore not been able to treat or pump water to its various reservoirs across the city. This has led to intermittent supply in most areas across the city. Meanwhile the Board is working closely with ESCOM to have the problem rectified and that electricity supply is restored at its treatment facility. In the mean time, customers with supply are being advised to keep enough water and use it sparingly. The Board is sincerely apologizing to all its customers for the inconveniences that this has caused.
