RE: Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Works in Mansa and Samfya (Luapula
Province) – Lots 1 and 2

REF: Missing Sewer Inspection Manholes Impeding House Connections

The Contractor wishes to bring to the attention of the Engineer the current challenges along the
sewer network, particularly with regards to connecting the remaining houses to the system. As we
verbally mentioned, there is a lack of existing sewer inspection manholes for many of these
houses within the remaining 480 m of sewer network rehabilitation work.

Most of these houses are located in suburbs and Medium-density compounds. Further, there are
only a few houses with existing inspection chambers which are currently been connected to the
new system, and within the next 10 days the connection work on these houses with existing
manholes will be completed. As a consequence, we will be unable to proceed with the expected
workmanship as there will be no place to work from.
