V. New Business
i. Chesters Improvements, SVC
Working with Mark Stole to expand Chesters and redesign. Finally have
proposed budget. Expansion will knock down wall behind the bar, new cabinets
and counters and cost $6500. Increasing room behind the bar and adding a drop
off counter to stop cluster. Will be removing booth right of Chesters. Suggested
putting in a counter top where the microwave is now instead of in the back corner
to the Lions Den, extra $1000 for barstool top this is an estimate but it should
include chairs and counter top, if not we can add that into the total. Will be polling
students in Chester, please be asking students and get back to Jesse.
Renovation $7,500 total. Need new shot pitchers, portafilters, total extension
$18,127.98.
FAC met with them this week and wanted to give the forum time to talk to
students about these expenses. Polling students on where they want the bar
stool areas, in the back corner or in the microwave area? Can we get a graphic
to show this to students with the two options? They will have it done over winter
break if the money is approved.

GCSA Forum Minutes

2 December 2014
We will send out sketches and questions to ask students.
Please remember that this is a thing for student workers, even if people are
upset about losing a booth. Questions about how to arrange the seats we have,
not what people think of the expansion.

Candy Cane Lane is an event for lunch and dinner Monday and Tuesday
December 8th and 9th where student can come to the decorated table at the
entrance of lane and send candycanes to their friends for free. Will be sending
out a sign up for GCSA members to volunteer. We also have to stuff candy
canes in mailboxes. 450 candy canes is a rough estimate. $80 for candy canes,
$47 for christmas paper and ribbon, $10 for decorations, $10 advertizing

to bridge the gap between the two and more comprehensively handle

care under them. Res Life, athletics, career services, ect. Work for voices

GCSA Forum Minutes

2 December 2014
Director of Student Care
work for disabilities, chapel, sexual assault
Representatives
Proposal suggested 2 class reps instead of Reps at large, much
discussion focused around that change. However, the recommendations
of the committee and other voices on campus has decided that there is
value in having a single class rep and representatives at large. We are
planning on cutting the number of reps at large to 6. We are making sure
that expectations for Reps at large are clear.
Going Forward
Planning to meet once more and go through Bylaw skeletons. Looking at
all of the bylaws, we are realizing that they are not how GCSA functions.
We are asking for complete bylaw streamlining during christmas break to
clarify and stop miscommunications. We need to look at the bylaws as a
whole package and make sure they are clear and efficient. We want to
open a new advisory commission to look at the bylaws as a whole.
Splitting the bylaws into sections to examine over winter break.
