MECHANICAL PREPARATION/CHECKS

CHECK

1. Motor Bearings are greased.


OK
2. Conduit and cable work complete.

3. Turn the motor/fan by hand and check for rubs.
OK
4. Motor GROUNDING is done
OK
5. Cable terminal block is sealed with compound filling material
OK

ELECTRICAL TEST PROCEDURES.

1. Lock main circuit breaker in the OFF position. (Door open)

OK
2. Check for loose wires or damaged components.
OK
3. From the MCC, Megger the motor from phase to phase and phase to
ground
OK
4. Measure the resistance between motor phases.
OK
5. Check the rating of the overload and set to rated full load current of the
motor.
OK
6. Unlock the circuit breaker, switch the selector switch to OFF and close
the breaker.
OK
7. Bump test the motor by switching selector to HAND, and verify correct
rotation.
OK
8. When the rotation is correct run the motor and record current.
