A foreign visitor has only one day to spend in your country.

Where should this visitor go on that day? Why?
Use specific reasons and details to support your choice.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Traveling is a good way to find out more about different countries with different traditions and customs. Some
travelers prefer to spend in one country just a few days or one day and then leave for another country. This way of
traveling allows people to visit more countries in fewer days. Unfortunately, in this case such travelers have to
hurry in order to visit more places.
I am from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. So, if a foreign visitor has only one day to spend in my country I think I would
advice him to visit the "Hermitage" - the most well known and amazing museum in Russia. The "Hermitage" has 3
floors and more then 100 halls. It is really amazing to visit that place. Many people from all over the world every
day enter its walls. Some of the rooms devoted to the history of other countries. Others devoted to the art of a
famous painter and the history of his life. However, most of the halls conclude many things such as paintings,
royal belongings, sculptures from Russian history.
Some people say that it is impossible to feel deeply and see all these amazing historical values for one visit. I have
to completely agree with this statement. When I first visited the "Hermitage" I was 14 years old. It impressed me
so much that I was back next day to see what I had not been able to see the day before.
The "Hermitage" is an impressive and beautiful museum. I think it is worth to spend there a whole day and I
believe that after that a foreign visitor can claim with a proud that he or she saw Russia.

Undeniably, in Poland there are many worth seeing places but if I had to choose the
more attractive town to a foreigner, for sure, it would be Bydgoszcz, an lovely river port in
northern Poland. Not only does Bydgoszcz provide entertainment for holidaymakers but for
history and sport lovers as well.
Culturally, the city has a lot to offer. For instance, tourists coming here can go to the
opera, theatre or to the philharmonic, where the acoustics are the greatest in Europe. What is
more, the Bydgoszczs old town is decorated with impressive sculptures like a stone archer, a
symbol of the city. Other examples of rich Bydgoszczs cultural heritage are beautiful old
gothic churches as the Farnys Church, which were build on an island. Anyway, the real
highlight of Bydgoszcz is the Bydgoski Canal. At only few zotych, you can go on unforgettable
sightseeing cruise along it or hire a boat and explore the canal by yourself. Others may spend
their time fishing, canoeing or taking leisurely walks.
Another thing, which impress all of the sport fans, is a famous speedways racetrack. What is
worth to add, top Polish champions, like Tomasz Golob, were training their racing skills there in
Bydgoszcz. History lovers will be moved to tears visiting, so called Valley of Death, where
during the World War the Second, Nazis buried thousands bodies of killed soldiers. Sadly,
public transport in Bydgoszcz is poor, so tourists must go everywhere on foot or by they own
car.
To sum up, I am convinced that Bydgoszcz is a wonderful place for visitors from all over
the world. I have to admit that I always come back to Bydgoszcz with a great pleasure due to
the magical and friendly atmosphere in the city.

To think of one place which a foreigner should visit if he gets a chance to spend one day in my
country is not an easy job. I belong to India which is known throughout the world for its rich
cultural heritage. India has a myriad of monuments and sites displaying the astonishingly
beautiful designs and architecture which will definitely attract any foreigner. Still if choosing
one out of them is inevitable I would go for the TajMahal in Agra city.

TajMahal is the only historical monument of India which was ever included in the wonders of
the world. Truly enough its apt to be called a wonder. The grand structure fully constructed in
white marble presents such a beautiful sight which cannot leave any heart untouched with its
splendor. It's known for its architecture and beauty. Even people possessing least of artistic
taste are left awestruck after seeing it. TajMahal symbolizes love. Emperor Shahjahan had
constructed this tomb in the loving memory of his dearest wife Mumtaz Mahal. Nowhere in the
world can anybody find another example of such an exquisite memento of love.

When a person visits a new country he is generally interested in knowing the history of that
country. TajMahal is apt in satisfying this inquisitiveness of the visitors. It carries with itself the
history of the Mughal empire which ruled India for around a decade. Foreigners will find ample
opportunity to know more about Indian history during the medieval period.
Besides, a person visiting TajMahal can also pay a visit to the grand Red fort in the same city.
Fort will help in augmenting the visitor's historical knowledge.

Taj Mahal is situated in Agra which is a traditional city of India. Till now it has not experienced
enough modernization to be called a metropolitan. This fact is an advantage because it
provides a chance to the visitors to observe Indian culture and traditional life style from close
quarters.

Though there are numerous tourists' spots in India, TajMahal in Agra is the one which can
attract people from all spheres of life. For some other places like the temples of South India
special interest in history and architecture is needed. The growing number of foreigners
visiting the monument proves the fact. Hence in my opinion, if a foreigner is visiting India just
for a day, there cannot be a better place to visit than the TajMahal at Agra.

The place that I would recommend them to visit is Hainan which is a coastal city in china. The
sky there is blue and always full of sunshine. They can bask under the sunlight and enjoy the
charming ocean view when the ocean breeze is blowing and the seabirds are singing.
Moreover, they could have a taste of the fresh seafood, such as lobsters and crabs, in the
restaurants beside the sea. Finally, they could buy some meaningful souvenirs for their family
or friends when they leave there.

China is an enormous country with an intensely varied landscape. If a foreign visitor were comin
g for just one day to see our country, it would be difficult to choose just one place to spend the da
y. However, I posit that the best place in China to visit would be Beijing. As the capital city, Beijing
offers a diverse look at China. I would suggest that the main sites to see would be the Forbidden
City, the Great Wall, and Tiananmen Square.
The Forbidden City offers the visitor a look at what it was like to live in historical China. The Forb
idden City is located in the heart of Beijing, and is the biggest palace complex in the world. This
particular site would be of interest to a tourist because it was once the home of many emperors.
One can see the actual rooms from whence the ancient China was ruled by the emperors. When t
he visitor walks through the palace confines, he/she will see many examples of classic Chinese ar
chitecture. A walk through the gardens is particularly peaceful with jasmine trees abound. Page

The Great Wall is also a must-see in China. The people of China hold the Great Wall as having par
ticular significance to their culture because of its long history. The wall, built of dirt, stone and br
ick, was used as a defense barrier against invading nomads and wandering tribes. This is the larg
est engineering and building project ever carried out by humans. Its historic and strategic import
ance is matched only by its architectural significance.
Finally, Tiananmen Square should be on the list of things to see while visiting Beijing. This square
is one of the largest in China, and possibly in Asia. At this square, one can visit the Chairman Ma
o Memorial Hall, one of the greatest leaders ever in China. The Chinese Revolutionary Museum a
nd the Chinese History Museum stand to the east of the square, the Great Hall of the People to th
e west and the magnificent Tiananmen Tower to the north. As the visitor will see, there are nume
rous interesting exhibits at Tiananmen Square that offer up a variety of Chinese heritage.
Of course, it is very difficult to name one city in China over all others as "the place" to visit. China
is the host to such a wide variety of beautiful places, and a visitor really should spend much more
time exploring them all. However, with only one day, I believe that Beijing is the best place to visit.
