The Myth in America

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish
Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general
Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and
establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
By May 29th, 1790, over 219 years and 8 months ago all 13 states of the new country
ratified the Constitution of the United States of America, since that time in our history this
document has been turned, twisted and interpreted by so many with their own agenda,
that it has lost it meaning. I ask you one simple question, how can anyone interpret “We
the People” into anything else than what it says and means…yet special interest groups
across the 3,794,101 square miles of America and their legal representatives believe that
“they” are the people and the rest of the People are at their beck and call.
This attitude needs some adjustment, seriously, as today you find when you travel
across this Blue Marble spinning through the cosmos, that a large majority of nations
today see our nation as a mixture of special interest groups that could give a rip about the
Democracy they represent. The consequences of this attitude has hurt our country more
than anyone realizes, until this great land once again addresses the needs of the People
and once again becomes a nation under God believing in themselves how can we expect
the rest of the civilized world to believe in us, “We the People”
I also note with pleasure that it does not say, “We the bankers”, or “We the politicians”,
it says for you that must be reminded, “We the People”. You can take the rest of our
historical documents and chuck them into a wastebasket or into the Atlantic or Pacific
Oceans and keep the “We the People”, and this would define the nation our founding
fathers had as a goal when they sat there in Philadelphia drawing up the Supreme Law of
the New Land. “We the People”
Today a vision of America has emerged based on the beliefs and dedication of these
hard working men in Philadelphia that few would recognize, a land of discord, and
corruption that 219 years ago, if given a view of the land they fought hard to obtain, they
would have burned the building where they composed the document and gave the land
back to the King of England, in hopes that sooner or later someone else would come along
and beat some sense into the leaders of the New World.
Our government today has turned into a rag-tag group of individuals incapable of seeing
beyond their own personal needs and beliefs, a government from the Executive Branch
down that resembles a gathering of shouting, screaming idiots with no direction or
purpose that can really define America. Their actions on the Potomac are embarrassing,
and disgustful, reaching a point of governing that even a good communist or socialist
would reject. I am not a lawyer nor am I a politician, who over the years have become one
and the same – I’m just a concerned citizen of the United States of America.
Our elected officials are running loose with our liberties, our money and our status as
nation of the World – all because they have dumped the people who elected them,
hanging their hat on the axiom that they know better than the folks at home, and be
damned if they will listen to the people in the street that elected them as their
representatives. Isn’t it about time that all changed?
A few simple actions would reign in these wild-cards bouncing around on the Potomac, in
reality nothing that would drastically change its operation, but a few that me as a non-
politician or Constitutional lawyer cannot find objectionable.
The primary change I would make (as King, little chuckle here) is that all elected officials
would serve one-term, one and one only…make all serving terms equal to the position –
which in round numbers could be four or even at the maximum six.
But, and this is a big but…make them all impeachable by the people who elected them
by popular vote at any time during their term, and let’s get rid of this impeachment by
their peers…that is kinda of like the bank robber being tried by other bank robbers…each
and every one of them at one time or the other robbing the bank.
Isn’t it true that we have the technology available today to hold an on-line election that
would be tallied by an inanimate machine that could care less if Senator Bob-up-and-down
smiling Jack drove a luxury car or went to your brother-in-law spa for a back-rub. In other
words, if our machines today can find you on any street in America they will be able to see
if it is really you casting your vote from a device having its own MAC ID…this tied to your
registered number with the US government, whereas if the number voted more than once
it would reject the vote, unlike in Chicago where they vote and vote often.
I see no technological reason why this would not work – this same “machine” and the
Internet would allow you as the person who elected your representative to see if he or she
is really doing their job, and let’s not attach any special rules such as NOT showing the
House of Representative floor or the floor of the Senate, whereas when the Senator from
San Francisco was caught cutting a few Z’s a few years back, and C-SPAN no longer was
permitted to pan the floor…this time put a sensor on the chair where your representative
is supposed to be sitting listening to some idiot going on and on about saving all the
Autumn leaves in New Hampshire, and required that they be in that chair at least 60% of
their term, or have posted a damn good reason why not! This might just reduce the long
winded speeches made in these assemblies, and they’d get on with the real business at
hand, which is governing this nation. And let C-SPAN once again pan the floor.
And let’s cut down on declaring everything from the color of the toilet paper used in the
White House to the amount of moisture on Mars, TOP SECRET! I agree that some items
need to be secret, but come on we’re getting a little carried away don’t you think…I mean
just because an oil company is planning on drilling in a reserve close to a sacred rock in
Utah should not be TOP SECRET, that is unless some idiot involved in issuing the permit
has another agenda – then by all means declare the document open to the public
including the address and e-mail address of the named idiot, and the name of his mistress
if he has one…we need to cull our government, just like our government today (on both
sides of aisle) is pushing states and private enterprise to do. Getting rid of the chaff must
apply to all, agreed?
The next thing I would recommend is that NO lawyer be allowed to compete for public
office, we need members of our population that have worked for a living, members that
have dragged startup companies to greatness who really understand what it means to
“lead” people, members who are not ashamed to walk down main street America, we
need honest, hardworking “dawn till dusk” people who understand and enforce the rule of
law and not the rule of the dollar – plain and simple folk who will sit down and have a cup
of coffee with you any time during the night or day. Our country is chucker block full of
these people; all we need to do is rid our government of the people who somewhere along
the line consider themselves members of Royalty. There is no need to remind you who
can read, and successfully completed the 4th grade back before Benjamin McLane Spock
popped out of the woodwork and screwed up rearing some of our children, that this is
what our revolution was all about, No Royalty.
How do we entice these pillars of the community to step forward and dedicate four or
maybe six years of their life? First they must understand if they do a good job, that
society will welcome than back with open arms, whatever their position was before…next
they must understand, screw it up and you’ll be back home in disgrace heaped with loads
of dishonor and you just might not be accepted…after we have stepped through these
basics “We the People” must protect our elected officials, after all we are sending them off
to represent what we want, and not what some special interest group in another state
wants, they are going to protect our land, our resources, and our children from the evils of
society…plain and simple. Fail and they’re out of there.
We need people who will quit screwing with the law of the land, stop this nonsense that
as we move through time we need a new set of rules everyday…and stop this frenzy to
change our Supreme Law – enough already.
Our Supreme Law of the Land was written to protect “We the People”, not some obscure
country that 90% of us don’t know or really want to know where it is or if they like or
dislike us – it was written for the people born and bred in this land. Once the rest of the
world realizes we mean business in taking care of our own, no one will mess with either
our form of government or our citizens. Today this is as far from what is happening as
we’ve ever been…we don’t need to go any further.
The last time I checked it took an Act of Congress to declare war, and not some off the
wall President who told “We the People” that it just might be some crazy group of
individuals from a nation that had a lot of oil hijacked a couple of planes and smacked
them into a couple of buildings on our soil – after which he gave a Brad Pitt talk in our
National Cathedral, passed a law to protect us from these evil few and we went to war.
What the hell was that all about….and the main guy he said we’d capture in a blink of an
eye is supposedly still walking around dragging his kidney dialysis’ machine behind him
somewhere in the hills of Afghanistan? You really believe that, the part of about still being
alive?
As I say, six-years max and impeachable at the drop of a hat! “We the People” would be
back on firm ground, and not just some myth that historians write about 200 years from
now.
Additionally, let us stop this running around pushing our Democracy outside of our
borders, we need to stay home and fix the one we have, if the rest of the world notices our
government working as it should we won’t need used car salesmen tripping around led by
the wife of a previous President – these countries will line up for a franchise and tip their
hats once more to the United States of America, realizing once more that “United” means
exactly that “United”.
There you have it, my humble opinion on how to get us back on the right path – nothing
drastic mind you – albeit a little mind bending, “We the People” need to take our country
back.
