Seasonal Media Relations Assistant

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals (Double-A Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals) are currently accepting resumes for a Seasonal Media
Relations Assistant for the defending 2015 North Division Champions Northwest Arkansas Naturals at Arvest Ballpark. This program
will begin in early March of 2016 and will extend through the entire baseball season, ending in early September of 2016.
The Seasonal Media Relations Assistant will work directly with the Marketing/PR Manager, the Video Production & PR Coordinator, as
well as the Radio Broadcaster to coordinate and assist in all aspects of team media relations during the 2016 season. Job
responsibilities throughout the year will include, but are not limited to:

Available to work all 70 home games, although some off days may be given
Game responsibilities include, but are not limited to, directing in-house broadcast, operating Videoboard Animations and Graphics,
Line Score, Music, Cut Replays, and Camera Operator, Gameday stringer (training will be provided but is required), Write game
recaps (while the team is home)
Assists Marketing/PR Manager & Video Production/PR Coordinator in content/layout of Naturals Souvenir Programs
Updates and compiles statistics and bios for Naturals Media Guide with the help of our Radio Broadcaster
Keep up-to-date with the Naturals and all Texas League team roster changes and transactions
Assists with Ad creation, newsletter and website design during the season
Serve as a day-to-day liaison between players and the media; Assists in issuing press credentials and corresponding with media
Contributes ideas/new ways to promote team and generate additional media coverage
Aids radio broadcaster in updating stats, game notes, and other game day information
Assists in setting up player appearances and autograph sessions at every home game
Assists with the Marketing Department and Community Relations team with events/programs as needed, including occasionally
dressing up as the Naturals mascots, Strike and/or Sinker.
Assists with Social Media, updating the Naturals Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts
Performs miscellaneous game day and office-related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Must be willing to work long shifts, holidays, and weekends (Naturals home games and TBD special events)

Must be willing to complete the internship through its entirety (early to mid-September 2016)

Ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete assignments on short notice to meet hard deadlines

Must be willing to cooperate and work well with all other areas of our organization

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Must have knowledge of Adobe Photoshop

Must be willing to be trained on Gameday Stringer

Must have knowledge of baseball, Passion for Sports and Entertainment, with a creative mind and willingness to learn

Previous experience in media relations is a plus

Must be available to work July 4 weekend


This is a paid hourly internship. Hours will rotate throughout the season to enhance the experience but will include nights, weekends
and occasional holidays. Assistants will work 30-40 hours per week on average.
