INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION
Institutional Training is a very good opportunity to get exposed to the working of any
undertaking. The Project on Pyrotechnics deals with fireworks display. Fireworks are a class of
low explosive pyrotechnic devices used for aesthetic and entertainment purposes. The most
common use of a firework is as part of a fireworks display. A fireworks event (also called a
fireworks show or pyrotechnics) is a display of the effects produced by firework devices.
Fireworks competitions are also regularly held at a number of places. Fireworks (devices) take
many forms to produce the four primary effects: noise, light, smoke, and floating materials
(confetti for example). They may be designed to burn with colored flames and sparks including
red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and silver. Displays are common throughout the world
and are the focal point of many cultural and religious celebrations.

HISTORY OF FIREWORKS

HISTORY OF FIREWORKS
Fireworks were invented in ancient China in the 12th century to scare away evil spirits, as a
natural extension of the Four Great Inventions of ancient China of gunpowder. Such important
events and festivities as Chinese New Year and the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival were and still are
times when fireworks are guaranteed sights. China is the largest manufacturer and exporter of
fireworks in the world.
Fireworks are generally classified as to where they perform, either as a ground or aerial firework.
In the latter case they may provide their own propulsion (skyrocket) or be shot into the air by a
mortar (aerial shell).
The most common feature of fireworks is a paper or pasteboard tube or casing filled with the
combustible material, often pyrotechnic stars. A number of these tubes or cases are often
combined so as to make, when kindled, a great variety of sparkling shapes, often variously
colored. The skyrocket is a common form of firework, although the first skyrockets were used in
war. The aerial shell, however, is the backbone of today's commercial aerial display, and a
smaller version for consumer use is known as the festival ball in the United States. Such rocket
technology has also been used for the delivery of mail by rocket and is used as propulsion for
most model rockets.

PRODUCTION
Pyrotechnics is the science of using various compounds and chemicals to produce heat, light,
smoke and sound. Common consumer fireworks fall under this umbrella, as well as commercial
firework devices, also matches and initiator components of some vehicle airbags. If it involves a
exothermic (burning) reaction in a technical application, chances are it falls under the
pyrotechnics umbrella.
It is believed that the first pyrotechnic device originated in china some 2000 years ago, using a
type of low explosive powder known today as black powder. Black powder is a mix of
potassium nitrate, sulphur and charcoal and forms the basis of many consumer pyrotechnics
available.
Various powdered metals and other chemicals are added to the base powder to bring
additional characteristics to the device. Certain powdered metals burn with colored flames, and
allow the creation of stars, sparks emitting from the point of combustion.
This collection of pyrotechnic books and guides has been assembled to give you a total
understanding of the brilliant world of pyrotechnics. Including comprehensive, detailed guides
on the production of the most common, and not so common pyrotechnic devices including:

Single-shot aerial tubes

Bottle rockets

Skyrockets and missiles

Ground spinners, pinwheels and helicopters

Flares & fountains

Roman candles

Multi-shot aerial devices, or cakes

Firecrackers

Catherine wheels

black snakes and strobes

OFFICE FUNCTION

The efficiency of an office should be judged by the degree of promptness in supplying correct
information. The information dealt with by an office will be on accounts, orders, prices,
complaints, personal matters, etc.
The functions of a modern office can be divided into the following categories; and they are:
1. Basic or routine functions.
2. Administrative management functions or ancillary functions.
The following are the basic functions of an office:
1. To receive or collect information.
2. To prepare a record of such information.
3. To process and arrange such information.
4. To supply readymade information to the authorities when asked for.
1. To receive or collect information:
The primary function of the office is to receive information from the various departments of the
organization or from outside through enquiries, reports, orders, circulars, complaints, messages
etc. If the information received is not complete, the office tries to collect information by sending
out enquiries of clarifications.
There may be different types of meeting within or outside the organization and pieces of
information will be helpful to the management and therefore the office has to collect it.
2. To prepare records of information:
Information is usually received in the form of letters, enquiries, phone calls etc. and this
information has to be converted into other forms, which can easily be followed by the
management. These are orders, quotations, price-lists, replies to enquiries and complaints,
account books, etc., within the organization. All these records will be retained for further
reference.
The books like cash-book, purchase book, sales-book, goods returns book, productive expense
and other ledgers are to be kept by every office. Besides the account-books, other books will
have to be maintained by the office in order to have a smooth function of the organization.

3. To process and arrange information:

The information received by the office may be lengthy and the same in its original form may not
be much useful to the management. Therefore, after collecting such information, it will be
processed, categorized, arranged and systematically kept for readymade information.
4. To supply readymade information to the authorities:
An office is a machine which receives raw materials (scattered information) and produces
various items through processes (compiled and tillable). The office receives information through
letters, phones, meetings, complaints, business transactions, etc.
Administrative and Management Functions:
1. Management function:
The most important administrative functions of the manager include planning, organizing,
staffing, directing, communicating, controlling, coordinating and motivating. The office manager
must organize the office on modern lines for the efficient and effective performance.
2. Development of office systems and procedures:
All the jobs in the office are interrelated and interdependent. As such an office must provide
better services to interrelated departments. For a smooth flow of work, development of office
system and procedures is essential.
3. Form designing and control:
Forms are the basic tools for all types of office work. There are many operations which can be
systematized with the use of printed forms. Besides, the use of the forms saves time and energy
at every operation. Information can be collected, recorded or processed systematically and
effectively with the help of office forms. Therefore, it is the task of the management to design
and to control the forms.
4. Selection and purchase of office appliances:
The office manager must purchase the appropriate machines, equipment or furniture for the
office. Office work requires adequate equipment, machines and furniture and they must be
maintained properly for the efficient working order. Appliances must be selected for full and
proper uses.
5. Maintenance of records:

This is a secondary function of an office. Copies of all the correspondence must be retained for
further reference. From a business firm, a number of letters go out daily and a number of replies
are received, and if the copies of the original letters against which the replies have been received,
are not available, the decision cannot be taken wisely.
6. Safeguarding the assets:
The job of an office is not only extended from the receipt of information to the supply of
processed information, but also to take care of various assets. To keep the record of customers
(debtors) and keep the management to be informed of about the doubtful debts so that necessary
steps may be taken to prevent the occurrence of bad debts.
10. Public relations:
Public relations signify the relations of a business organization with the general public, usually
through the distribution of information. Public relations guide business enterprise. Public
relations are guided by public opinions.

PROBLEMS AND
SUGGESTIONS

PROBLEMS AND SUGGESTIONS

PROBLEM
BreathingProblems
Fireworks smoke contains toxic dust that can irritate your lungs and can cause breathing
problems. If you have a health problem that affects your breathing, air pollution such as Smoke
can make your breathing suddenly get worse. It can make you cough and have more mucus, and
itcan cause you to be short of breath.
Suggestion
When I go to a Lobby on Mineplex for example like Lobby-1, I always run into Lag because of
the Firework Gadgets that people are still using as of today and use it in a coin bomb party or
anywhere around the lobby. For me, I say that Mineplex needs to obtain an option in Prefs to
prevent the visibility of Fireworks and also critical lag depending on the option you've selected
in Prefs which is simple to understand. I'm ok with the firework gadget having to exist on
Mineplex, but for anyone that has poor performance (or a little) should highly recommend
disabling Fireworks in Prefs (if they want to.) Well, for others that have a high performance
gaming computer (or laptop) they can have the firework visibility in Prefs enabled or disabled
(you decide.)

CONCLUSION

CONCLUSION
From this Institutional Training Report, we have gained in-depth knowledge about
Pyrotechnics process. Pyrotechnics is the science of using materials capable of undergoing
self-contained and self-sustained exothermic chemical reactions for the production of heat, light,
gas, smoke and/or sound. Its etymology stems from the Greek words pyro ("fire") and tekhnikos
("made by art").[1] Pyrotechnics include not only the manufacture of fireworks but items such as
safety matches, oxygen candles, explosive bolts and fasteners, components of the automotive
airbag and gas pressure blasting in mining, quarrying and demolition. We also learnt the
entrepreneurship qualities which will help us to manage the business efficiently in future. We
thank the company for providing the information.
