Spring is in the air!!!

Unfortunately, mud is everywhere!

The students are constantly being reminded to avoid

the wet, muddy areas of the yard.nevertheless, here
are some suggestions for this time of year.

Parents, if you get a chance, please

take a moment to check out our collection of lost & found items. Its all laid
out on tables in the back hallway near
the gymnasium. Weve got jackets,
mitts, gloves, hats, scarves, boots, and
many sweaters! We have so many

Plastic bag boot-liners, if necessary
Extra socks
Change of pants
Any extra clothing you think your child may need

Friday, April 22

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22nd. Earth

Day is the largest environmental event in the world!
School-aged children all across Canada will participate in
Earth Day activities in their own schools as well as
throughout their communities.
Arklan staff and students are proud to recognize and support Earth Day.
On Friday, April 22, please wear green, brown or camo!

April 17-23

Canada Pitch-In Week

Our community participates annually in Canada Pitch-In
Week. For many years, Arklan staff and students have
been dedicated supporters of Pitch-In Week.
During the week of April 17-23, we will participate in
cleaning, restoring and beautifying our environment by
picking up litter and other garbage from our school
grounds and beyond. The Carleton Place BIA will provide
gloves and garbage bags.
Pitch-In Week promotes respect for Canadas natural
and urban environments.

Supporting our Food Bank

Arklan families are a generous bunch! Every year we collect nonperishable food items and toiletries for our local food bank. This
years food drive begins on April 18 and ends April 29.
The items we collect will be stored in the display case at the front of
the school. Check it out as we attempt to pile enough food to Hide
the Wildcat!
