Battle of the Books Procedures

1. The tournament will rotate to all buildings.


2. Meets will take place every Wednesday afternoon in February and start
at 12:30 pm.
3. The Tournament will take place the last Wednesday afternoon in
February and start at 12:00 pm.
4. Teams will design the front of their team shirt and use whatever
company they choose. Battle of the Books should be incorporated
somehow. The back of each shirt should have title and author of all
books in the competition. Once your team has been chosen, please
send out an email claiming your teams shirt color.
5. Questions written by coaches cannot be used for practice in part or as
a whole.
6. Host schools provide a snack and drink after the meet concludes.
7. Prepare 300 questions if hosting a meet. (2 questions per book per
round)
8. Six extra questions will be typed up and provided to the tournament
host for use in the tournament two weeks prior.
9. Questions should be started with the phrase, In what book... or In
which book...
10.
Please refrain from using major character names and instead use
the phrase, main character(s) etc. Even a book with animals as main
characters should be referred to as characters, main characters.

When coming up with titles for the next season, use the following
genres as a guide.
