I have been loving you all these days, but cant tolerate you anymore. You
are just irritating me like anything. You are biting me like a mosquito. You
dont know what kind of situation I am in right now. I dont think this will
work out. We may need to think about this and arrive at a solution. Or both
of our lives would be miserable. Okay?,
Ms. Greeshma, I am talking to you. Is that okay?, on raising his eyebrows,
Rishi yelled to his lover.
Greeshma left the place without answering him. Rishi is always in a
deep depression as he cannot tolerate the stress he is suffering from two more
people in his life. One is his mentor Dr.Gurudev and the other one is his friend
Mr.Rohit. All three of them are a kind of biting mosquitoes to him. But he
equally loves and respects all of them. Rishi is a kind hearted person who
lives an urban life and stays at rented apartment. He works in a private
hospital as a dentist and he was a first rank holder in college and school. He
studied in a boarding school at Himachal Pradesh and since his schooling he
hardly had friends. He is an active person.
Life changed after his friendship with Rohit who shares his room in that
apartment. Rohit is a sales executive and got introduced to Rishi few years
before in the clinic. Rohit is intelligent too but Rishi is much bothered about
Rohits night-time habits like drinking, drugs intake, etc. Rishi is forcibly
pulled into Rohits company and he is too getting addicted to it. Rishis
profession is heavily getting impacted due to these habits. Rohit will spend
for these companies and Rishi will be paying the entire rent. Rohit havent
shared the rent in these years as he always says to Rishi that he will pay back
later and havent paid back. In such a kind of intolerable situation Rishi met
Greeshma who happened to be his soulmate. Greeshmas love was one and
best kind of medicine for his trauma. But that too didnt last long. The
problems started in this relationship too, where Greeshma started asking too
many bothering questions to him and at the most to frustration.

Rishi is almost facing the bitter part of his life. So how Dr.Gurudev bothers
him? As the name implies he is the Guru of all. He is Rishis mentor and a
senior doctor in the hospital and he is one of the executive member of Indian
Dental Association (IDA). He always calls Rishi to get his work done and Rishi
always had tough times with him. There is not a single day he left Rishi free
in the past four years. Rishis body will start to shiver when he sees a call
from Dr.Gurudev on his mobile.
Rishi wanted to sort out all of his problems as soon as possible. He
planned to talk to someone other than those three persons and so he decided
to get the help from the counselor in the city. He chose one better person from
city directories and his name is Dr. Kamal Kannan, who is a psychiatrist and
a counselor. He fixed an appointment and waiting at doctors clinic. When
waiting for his turn he got a call from Greeshma saying he have to meet her
soon and now. He tried to explain the situation but Greeshma didnt mind to
listen. She just wanted to meet him in urgently at the coffee day. Rishi didnt
mind the doctors appointment and rushed to the coffee day to meet her. She
was not there. Thinking she left the place Rishi called her phone but she did
not pick up the call. After staying there for long time, he cried and left the
place to see the doctor. By the time he reached there, the doctors appointment
was over and doctor left the place. When inquired about the new appointment,
they mentioned Doctor is on vacation for the next week and he may need to
wait for a week to get an appointment. This made Rishi frustrated and went
home back late night and slept. After sometime he heard a knock on the door
continuously. Its 2:30 A.M. now and he got up with a fear and silently opened
the door. It was Rohit. He is badly drunk and he fell on the floor as he is
unable to balance and vomits there. You are taking too much advantage of
my friendship and I cant tolerate this. I am paying your rent too and you cant
always do this shit and vomit. I have to commit suicide or I have to kill you.
Only honest and good people like me gets these kind of craps as friends, Rishi
cried at him angrily.

Rishi managed to pull him inside and cleaned all those vomit near the
door. Rishi went to sleep again and soon after another 30 mins he heard a
knock on the door and this time the knock was too aggressive and he opened
the door and saw Greeshma to his surprise.
Where were you when I asked to come, Greeshma asked in anger.
Dear, I reached there as soon I got a call from you. You left the place soon
and I tried your phone so many times and you didnt pick it up. Please dont
mistake me, Rishi cried again for Greeshma. So what were you doing at this
time, Rishi asked. Bloody Liar. You said that I was not there. But I was
waiting for you all this time and you dont even mind about that. Whats wrong
with you? You just lied, Greeshma shouted at him. In between this
commotion, Rohit is shouting from inside room asking, Who is it? What the
hell is that?. Rishi dont want Greeshma to enter inside the room in this
condition and he begged her to leave and she left the place in anger.
All these scenarios frustrated Rishi and he didnt sleep then. After
crying a lot, he decided to sleep for some time. And suddenly his phone started
ringing which was plugged to charger. He was shivering and not able to
conclude who is calling this time. And he is afraid of whether the call is from
Dr.Gurudev. Slowly moved to the phone and found an unknown number. He
is very hesitant to pick the call but picked it up and said, Hello. Hello
Mr.Rishi. This is calling from Dr. Kamal Kannans clinic. Doctor has skipped
his vacation and you have got an appointment today, replied the caller.
Okay, Ill be there in another 30 mins, replied Rishi. Rishi in spite of his
sleepiness, rushed to doctors clinic within 30 mins.
Waiting outside at doctors clinic Rishi was continuously getting calls
from Dr.Gurudev, his mentor. Rishi is repeatedly cutting the call and hesitant
to answer him right now. As he dont want to miss this appointment with
Dr.Kamal. Rishis turn comes and enters Dr.Kamals room and met him.
Hello Doctor, Rishi wished Dr.Kamal with sarcastic smile in face and dark
circles below his eyes and sweating forehead. Yes dear. Take your seat. How
are you? You look so tensed and your face is so dull, asked Dr.Kamal. Then
Rishi explained the entire situation to doctor and explained how these three

people are disturbing him much in his life and also showed him the repeated
calls he receives from his mentor. Dr. Kamal asked him to switch off the phone
and he did so. Then Kamal started asking more details about him and he
answered for all his questions.
At last Kamal decided to treat him and he asked him to wait in a room
nearby. Now, you can switch on your mobile phone and wait in that room,
said Kamal. Rishi went to that room and Dr. Kamal ringed the bell for next
patient. Soon after ten mins Rishi came running to Kamals room saying,
Dr.Gurudev is calling me again and again. Dr.Kamal said, Please attend
the call and ask him to come here soon. I have to meet him now and it is
urgent. Rishi did the same.
Rishi is waiting in that room and soon after few mins Dr.Gurudev
opened the door and entered the room, What are you doing here. I was trying
to reach you so many times. Do you sit here and relax during your duty
hours? I havent seen, you have applied for any leave today. You are just
enjoying like anything. What makes you to come here? And Why did you called
me?, shouted at Rishi. Doctor, please calm down, I am here for a treatment.
Please dont shout at me. Let me introduce you to a person, Rishi replied and
ran to Dr.Kamals room. Rishi and Dr. Kamal came to the room where
Dr.Gurudev is waiting. Dr.Kamal met Dr.Gurudev, and shook his hand,
Hello. I am Dr.Kamal. Nice to meet you. I just wanted to see you, as a part of
my treatment for Rishi. I am sorry. I am no way related to this. So, Why the
hell I am here?, replied Dr.Gurudev in louder voice. Doctor, we all are in
similar profession. So you should be able to understand the situation about
me and my patient, Rishi. I would like to ask you few questions regarding
Rishis current situation, requested Dr.Kamal. Dr.Gurudev is not ready to
co-operate with him and he is shouting all around. This worsens Rishis
condition and out of anger he took the surgical knife from his pocket and
pressed it under his neck and warned them that he will die if this discussion
continues. Dr.kamal is shocked and tried to pull the knife from his hand and
Dr.Kamal is struggling with him. Dr.Gurudev is silently watching this. Rishi

is uncontrollable and accidentally stabbed Dr.Gurudev on his chest.

Dr.Gurudev fainted after shouting aloud.
The room remained silent for 30 mins and both Dr.Kamal and Rishi
were speechless. Time goes on and Doctor is getting a call from his Personal
Assistant on the appointments. Rishi is crying for his mentors condition. Dr.
kamal moved towards Dr.Gurudev and confirmed he is dead.
We should not disclose this to anyone. You killed him and I am just a
witness. But I dont want to let you go like this. You have a future. So, keep
this secret. Keep this close to your heart. Dont reveal this to anyone. Not even
to your girlfriend, Dr. Kamal said to Rishi.
Rishi emotionally replied, But doctor he is my mentor. I have a great
respect on him, in spite of the pressure he gives to me. I just treat him like
my father. How can I hide that I have killed him? I cant do this to him.
Please try to understand the situation. If you are really bothered about
hiding the truth, just go and tell it to everybody and surrender. I dont have
any issues. Look, you are my patient and I am trying to safeguard you
considering your future in mind, replied Dr.Kamal. Rishi asked, Okay. What
I have to do now? How are we going to hide the truth?.
Yes. Its not we. It is only you are going to do it. There is a big burial
ground behind this hospital premises and I can take care of the watchman
there. So, what you have to do is, to bury this dead body in a cornered and
isolated place and so nobody can understand. Just flatten the surface after
you do that, Dr.Kamal explained to Rishi. Rishi did it as per the doctors
instructions after the hospital is closed. He left that place and he is trying to
make up his mind for forgetting the incident and he is not able to.
After reaching home Rishi soaked his dress in water and removed the
blood strains and he is shocked to see the surgical knife in his pant pocket.
He turned pale and started to shiver. His body sweats out of tension. He
doesnt know what to do with that knife. He cleaned and sterilized it and kept
it beneath Rohits suitcase. He slept and got up as usual. He went to temple
and prayed God and went to his clinic.

He had lots of pending appointments at his clinic. The incident is

running into his mind like a daemon and he was unable to concentrate on his
work. He attended three patients and postponed the remaining appointments.
He is completely vexed and went to meet Dr.Kamal, at his clinic and heard
that he is in vacation. He thought Dr.Kamal went out to abscond from the
place. He planned to meet Greeshma and console her on the incidents
happened two days before. He called Greeshma and she didnt pick up the
call. So he mailed her apologizing for everything happened and mentioned
that he is in trouble. He hasnt received any call or mail from Greeshma even
after 3 days. And it didnt bother him much as she was troubling him before.
He planned for a vacation to some other place to get relief from so many
incidents. So he applied for vacation leave in the hospital, mailed and went
back to his apartment for pack up. While reaching his apartment he found
some police vehicles parked below. He silently parked his car outside at street
and slowly moved to the apartment. Rishi saw the police men were standing
on his floor. He left the place slowly and switched off his phone too. He didnt
change the plan for vacation to Kalpa in Himachal Pradesh.

Rishi had heard about Kalpa, when he was studying in a convent

boarded at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. But he had never met that place in his
life time. Kalpa is one of the biggest and beautiful village of Kinnaur district
of Himachal Pradesh. Rishi hired a car after reaching Himachal and reached

a resort at Kalpa. To his surprise he saw Greeshma coming out of the resort
alone.

Rishi got shocked and called,

Hey Greeshma! Hey Greeshma!, he cant control his excitement.
Greeshma turned back and cried out of joy on seeing Rishi. She came
to Rishi and hugged,
I miss you. Please dont leave me alone hereafter.
They both dressed up for a trip and happily got into the car. Rishi asked
the driver, Where shall we go first? I am new to this place. Sir, shall we go
to those ancient temples first? You would be interested in their unusual
architectural style and sculptures, driver replied. Greeshma asked, Before
that, I have heard about the apple gardens. Is that so thrilling?.
Driver is surpised, Yes Madam. That is. It is in Roghi village approximately 3
Kms from here. How do you know that? It is a dangerous trench and has
vertical slopes. It is said to be suicide point but the beautiful apple gardens
make us to forget that point.
Sir Shall we go that way?, driver asked Rishi and he nodded yes.
They were heading towards the dangerous trench in Roghi and when car
moves slowly over the trench Greeshma opened the car door and jumped over
the slope shouting, I am Sorry. Driver stopped the car and Rishi is shouting
her name repeatedly. She just fell on the slope like a landslide to commit
suicide. Rishi cried and was trying to jump down the slope. Driver holds his
hands.
People gathered and policemen came. They were inquiring Rishi about
what happened. Rishi didnt stop crying. No whereabouts of Greeshma.
Suddenly somebody touched Rishis shoulder and he turned back. It was
Dr.Kamal at vacation. What happened?, asked the doctor. Rishi is
uncontrollably crying and said, My Greeshma fell down the slope to commit

suicide. It always happens to me. Why should this happen in this vacation?.
Dr.Kamal said, Please calm down. You have another shocking news. Luckily
I saw you. Why did you switch off the phone? Some policeman called after
tracing a call from your number to my number. Policeman? Why?, Rishi
asked in fear.

Your friend Rohit has been arrested for poisoning his client and
stabbing to death two days before. Also they have found a surgical knife from
his bag. Policemen want to inquire about this to you and your mobile phone
was switched off, Dr.Kamal replied.
What did they ask you Sir?, Rishi asked.
They inquired about you and I said you are my patient. I also
mentioned you were in my hospital for a treatment in the past two days, The
policeman was known to me and he managed to avoid your inquiry right now.
But you may need to report there once you reached, Dr. Kamal explained.
Thanks a lot Sir. I will not forget this help
Thanks is not going to do good for me. You were creating problems all
around and I cant help you out any more. I havent paid for that. I demand
you a lump sum of Ten Lakh rupees for all the help I did for you. Or your life
would be in trouble, Dr.Kamal warned Rishi.
Rishi replied, Doctor, how can you demand me like this? Are you trying
to threaten me? I am in danger already? You are so cunning.
What, if explain the policeman on the situations happened? Do what I
say. Or your entire life would be screwed up., Dr.kamal warned again and
said, Please meet at clinic when you are back after vacation. I would be there
tomorrow.
Rishi is completely in dark. He doesnt know what to do and no idea
about what is going on. He planned to return back from vacation. It was a
night time when he reached his apartment. He opened the door and switched

on the phone. Dr.Kamal called him asking what he had decided. Rishi denied
for making such a big payment. For each 30 mins Dr.Kamal calls Rishi to
check about his stand. Rishi switched off the phone again and slept. Heard a
noise outside the apartment gate. Rishi got up and peeked through the
window door.
He saw Dr.Kamal was honking his car from outside. He switched off the
lights and went down the stairs through back door. He caught a taxi and went
far away till the morning came. It was 10:00 A.M. He got down from the car
and walking aside the pavements. He stopped and saw the board, Mind Star
health care center. He entered inside and asked the for an appointment.
Madam, I badly need appointment with psychiatrist. I am ready to pay any
cost for it. The receptionist called the doctor and confirmed, Sir. You have
got an appointment in another 30 mins and you will be charged double for
this unplanned appointment. Please be seated and we will call you. Rishi
accepted and waiting for his turn.
Rishi was admiring the beauty of the hospitals interiors and the
paintings. It made him happy and he feels relieved from all his stress. His
turn came and went inside. Hello Dr.Rishi, wished the doctor. Rishi gave his
visiting card to doctor and exclaimed in joy, I am very happy to see you
doctor. I need your help and I badly need your help. So what bothers you
Dr.Rishi?, doctor asked.
I have been troubled by Dr.Kamal Kannan a leading psychiatrist. I
went for a treatment long before and he is demanding a huge lump sum for
his treatment. He is threatening since I met him at vacation. He is repeatedly
calling on my phone and when I switched it off, he came to my apartment.
You have to help me in this doctor, explained the situation. Okay. Can you
please wait in the room nearby? Ill come there in another ten minutes,
Doctor said. Rishi went to that room.
Doctor was thinking for a while and dialed the number from Rishis
visiting card.
Hello. Is it Dr.Gurudev Memorial Dental Hospital.

Yes Sir. This is Greeshma from the reception. How can I help you? By
the way, no appointments can be made today as the hospital will function
only half a day on behalf of fourth death anniversary of our beloved founder,
Dr.Gurudev, replied.
Thank you. I didnt call for any appointment. I would like to speak to
Dr.Rishi. Can I have his mobile number? I am his friend. I heard he is in
vacation and I remember when spoke to him last time he was about to send
a vacation mail. Am I correct?, Doctor asked.
Not exactly Sir. It was not a vacation email. It was a suicide note.,
replied the receptionist.

searching for him all around his apartment and outside everywhere. They are
unable to find him. We tried his mobile phone many times and it is not
reachable, she replied.
Ok Madam. You are so cool, in spite a doctor missing. BTW, did he
mention which place he is going to, asked the doctor.
Sir, I am from Shimla. My job defines the way I am now. And you know,
he is not just a doctor. He owns this place. And he mentioned he is going to
Kalpa village at Himachal. And we have send our team there to search him,
she answered.

asked.
Dr. Rishi Gurudev. He was so disturbed and restless since his fathers
death which happened four years before. He was very attached to his father
as he taught him everything and he was always with him. His sudden death
made his situation worse and so to get rid of those memories, he stayed at a
rented apartment rather than staying at their own bungalow, He is much
worried about his non fulfillment of his fathers wish, We tried so many

Doctor cant believe what is happening. He got annoyed and pressed the
bell unknowingly for next appointment and the door opened. There came a
person neatly dressed, shirt tucked in with a tie and was holding a brown
leather bag on his hand. He entered the room and gave his card saying, Hello
Doctor. I am Rohit from Medtree agencies. I remember you enquired for a
quote for antipsychotic medicine, asked the person. Doctor is still on the call.
Sir? Are you there? Sir?, sounds the receiver. Doctor replied, Oh. I am sorry.
Yes, Ill check, what can I help in finding him. She asked, What is your good
name, Sir?.

After the conference was over Doctor returned home. His wife asked, Why did
you lie to that press person?.
Regarding?, Doctor asked.
Regarding the Doctor you treated for schizophrenia. Do you remember he
jumped off from the suicide point at Kalpa in Himachal, from a car? And he
is dead. It was a news all over, that time. And he did that after escaping from
our hospital and you have bribed the press & police to suppress the name of
our hospital from papers and channels. We are safe now, but I cant forget
that Doctors condition when he was over dozed with sedation, cried
Dr.kamals wife.
You know; I was one of the person in his hallucination on whom he wanted
to make a police complaint for threatening. I was trying to explain him the
entire situation. He was not in a position to accept the truth even when
hypnotized. And he became very aggressive, where I was forced to use a heavy
dosage of sedation. And unfortunately that worsened his insane condition.
His escapism was unexpected as we were in a thought that he would be in
deep sleep. But if all this news comes out, do you think we would be able to
run this hospital? We would be thrown out from our entire society. I didnt
have any other option at that time, Doctor replied in a sad voice.
We played with a persons life and we are answerable for it, she replied.

Suddenly their door knocked.
