Big Understanding:

Be able to arrange a proper table setting and recognize the 4 types of


meal service.
Show table manners.
Explain family meal time and how that promotes family strength.

H.O.T Questions:

Think of a time you enjoyed a family dinnerpair and share.


Pick 2 food services and compare & contrast. What food service would
your 1st choice be and why?

Assessment Evidence:
Discuss meal service- split class into 4 groups giving each group a type of
meal service. Have them learn their groups type of service and prepare and
perform a skit demonstrating their knowledge of that service. Have 1
student from each group narrate.

Opening Hook:
Daily Appetizer on the board- How do you properly set a table? What
tableware is used? With a blank paper provided draw out and label a table
setting.

Instructional Strategies:

Daily Appetizer-How do you set a table? draw out a place setting on


the paper found on your deskbe prepared to discuss tableware and
table settings.
Group discussions about family mealtime!

Materials:

White board/ text books/ blank paper/ tableware/ grouping strategy
