Joseph and the Amazing


Technicolor Dreamcoat
Mark your calendars now for Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat! Shows will be held in the Reed
Room on July 28, 29, 30, 31 & August 4,5,6,7 at 7:00 pm
each night. Tickets are free! Joseph is a musical
extravaganza based on the story of Joseph from the Book of
Genesis. It features 90 minutes of non stop singing and
dance! The cast of 29 includes AUMC members Alison
Perkins, Charlene Guill, Adam Blalock & Whitney Gatesman.

We will also have a Dinner Theatre on Sat. 8/6 with dinner


at 5:30 and the show at 7:00. The menu is Joseph's "Multi

Colored Pasta with Red Sauce", Potiphar's "Show Me the


Green" Salad, Pharoh's "Why do I Dream of White Bread?"
and Jacob's "Chariot of Gold" Dessert. Dinner tickets are
$6.00 each or $24 for a family of four or more.

Office space sought for ministry to refugees


I am seeking a single office on the bus route in Charlottesville/
Albemarle County for our ministry to refugees: ARISE (Alliance for
Refugee and Immigrant Support and Education). We do not have
the funds to pay rent, so we are seeking donated space. If you
have a business (or know of a business) that has a vacant office
that isnt otherwise being used, please consider contributing the

Audio / Visual Team


The A/V team is looking for a volunteer who is interested in serving as
the liaison for the Technology and Audio Visual team. This role is great
for someone who enjoys new technology and is good with creating
effective systems for special event management and worship services.
The coordinator should be a highly communicative person willing to
learn and train others as well as enjoy learning new technology. This
position will have a ramp-up training period with the existing A/V chairbeginners welcome!

Called Charge Conference Tomorrow at 7:15pm


A called charge conference has been called by the Charlottesville District
Superintendent, Danny Kesner, at Aldersgate Church on Monday, July
18th at 7:15 p.m. The sole business of the called charged conference
will be to set the accountable reimbursement fund and parsonage
exclusion for Aldersgate Church's new pastor, Rob Robertson.

New Sunday School Study


The AGAPE Sunday School class has started a new study: Lost &
Found: A Prodigal's Journey. Robert Morris is the pastor
presenting. This is a video/discussion study and Jim Reibel is
facilitating. Please join us in room 108 at 10:00 on Sunday
mornings.

Clergy Leadership Sessions


Pastor Rob Robertson has been part of Cohort II of the Virginia
Clergy Leadership Program since September 2015. Cohort II of the
VCLP has met for four three-day sessions; two more sessions will
be held in the coming weeks on July 26-28 and September 27-29.
During these dates, others will be stepping in for Pastor Rob to
handle pastoral care needs at Aldersgate Church. More

Staff-Parish Relations Committee.

Attention All Singers


During the summer break, the choir only practices on Sunday
mornings at 10:30am when it's scheduled to sing. The next
Chancel Choir rehearsal is on Wednesday, September 7, at
7:30pm. Anyone interested in singing with the choir is invited to
attend! For more information, contact Music Director Rafael

abilities are helpful, but not required.

Toddler PlayGroup
AUMC Playgroup will meet Monday 7/18 from 9:30-11 a.m. on the
church playground. Please come prepared for water fun. We will be
setting up a sprinkler and wading pool for the kids. Bring a snack for
your kids and outdoor toys to share. Over the summer wed like to
invite families with elementary school aged kids to join in the fun. If it
rains we will be in the fellowship hall for indoor games. Questions?

Help Wanted Offering Counter Volunteers


The Church needs Offering Counter Volunteers that are available for 1-2
hours (immediately following the 11AM worship service) for two
Sundays each month. There is an initial commitment of one year (due to
the training required), however, schedules can be flexible month-tomonth to accommodate vacations and other commitments. Please

School Supply Drive 2016


Once again, AUMC will be providing school supplies for over 100
students at Greer Elementary School. Below is a list of items
needed for the students. Monetary donations will also be
accepted to purchase the bulk supplies of paper towels, tissues,
ear buds and other items that we may not receive during the
collection period. Please make your check payable to AUMC with
SCHOOL SUPPLIES on the memo line. Donations can be left in the
collection box located in the Welcome Center or in the upstairs
Narthex starting in July. Packing and delivering of the school
supplies will be during the month of August. An announcement
will be in the bulletin with the date and time. Please let Deb
