Breakfast Fundraiser TODAY

Please join us today in Fellowship Hall as the youth serve breakfast (after
all 3 worship services) to raise money to assist members of our
congregation with immediate and serious financial needs. All profits will go
to the ESUMC discretionary fund, and will then be donated to families in
our church who are in immediate need. We will be serving French toast,
eggs, sausage, coffee and juice. There is no set cost for the meal
donations will be accepted. So bring your appetite and donate generously
to help our brothers and sisters in need.

IS GOD CALLING YOU?
ESUMC will be training a new class of Stephen Ministers starting
September 24, 2014. For those who are considering being part of this
class, we will be holding a Stephen Ministry information session on August
10
th
, 17
th
, and 24
th
in Fellowship Hall after each service. There will be a
short video, an overview of Stephen Ministry, training manuals and reading
materials for review, and time for you to ask questions. This is a great
opportunity to learn more about Stephen Ministry as you prayerfully decide
whether this is the right ministry for you. If interested in becoming a
Stephen Minister you may pick up an Application and Job Description at
one of the information sessions, complete it, and return to Peggy Strack at
the church office by Monday August 25, 2014.

ESUMC Fun and Fellowship Picnic
Come on out to celebrate the end of the summer and the start of a new
school year with food, fellowship, games, and lots of laughs!!

When: Sunday, September 7, 2014
Where: Dansbury Park: Day St,
East Stroudsburg, PA 18301
Time: 12:30pm - 4:00pm

Burgers, Hot Dogs, Beverages, and Paper goods
will be provided. Please bring a Side Dish/Dessert to share and B.Y.O.C
(bring your own chair). In the event of rain, the Picnic will be held in
Fellowship Hall.

to health concerns are always happy to hear from you! Cards and

Stephen Ministry

God Blesses Stephen Ministers in Amazing Ways!

Since becoming a Stephen Minister, Ive experienced a
richness of Gods grace beyond anything I could have imagined.
To truly listen with the ears of Christ, to see others through his
eyes, to know his heart, to see Jesus working through you to touch
the life of someone else is a window into heaven. William,

Beginning Sept.24, an in-depth training course will be offered for
ESUMC members who desire to become involved in this life-
changing ministry. Is God calling you? For more information,
stop by the Stephen Ministry table in Fellowship Hall after services
on Aug. 10, 17 & 24.

Thank You: To all who have been completing the weekly
communication cards found in your bulletins and have been placing
them in the offering plates! Your completed cards have helped the
Caring Caller Team to identify and reach out to regular attendees
who have been missing from church.

For those who have missed the former pew pads for signing in,
please note that using the cards has significantly increased the
number of confidential prayer requests.

Thank you again for helping us with the process of maintaining a
Caring Church.


Opportunities

Attention All Senior High Youth! Grab your Sunscreen, Bible,
Towel, and a Friend! We are having a retreat to Brick, New Jersey
August 22nd to the 24th. Paper work will be available in the youth
room. A $40.00 deposit is due ASAP. Final cost TBD. Don't let cost
get in the way, contact Scott Kuhnle for available scholarships.

The Annual Upstairs Bargain Basement will be held on
Friday, August 8

. Drop off dates for
donations are Wednesday, August 6

and Thursday, August 7

.
We will also need people to help set up as well as work the sale.

Bakers are also needed the UMW for our bake sale which is part of
the Upstairs Bargain Basement (mentioned above). If you are a
baker, we can use baked goods (anything) or homemade candy

Wellness Fair/Expo Coming Soon
The newly re-organized Wellness Ministry at ESUMC will be hosting
a Wellness Fair and Expo on Sunday, August 10
th
from 8:30 a.m.
12:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Health and wellness practitioners
from our area will have display tables, providing health education
and information about the services they provide. If you would like
to reserve a table for your business, please contact Darleen

Women of Faith
Women of Faith is taking place this year on September 5th and
6th. We still have tickets left. If anyone is interested they can call
