Welcome Families

My name is Krysta King. You may recognize me or my name from this past year. I was a
student teacher in the building and a Student Support Specialist. This will be my first
year as the Resource Room teacher. I am anxious to start the new year as a permanent
team member at North Oakview. I am excited to be able to work with you this year. It
is going to be a great year!
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Special Education and
Comprehensive Sciences and Arts for Teaching. Im a firm believer in being a lifelong
learner and am currently working on a Masters Degree in Learning Disabilities at
Grand Valley.
As the resource teacher I will be working with you and your child in order to progress
and strive toward reaching your childs learning goals. Along with individual student
goals, we will be working on the curriculum that is given in the classroom. My goal
when working with you is to encourage and support you with academic goals, to be the
most successful! Along with that, I will strive to instill a love of reading, an
imagination for writing, and inspire an interest in mathematics.
Your classroom teacher and I will be in frequent contact on the progress of learning
goals and classroom curriculum. Together, we will support you and ensure
communication with you about progress.
