EXPERIMENT 1.1
ARRANGEMENTS AND MOVEMENT OF MOLECULES IN MATTER

Problem: How do molecules in solid, liquid, and gas differ?

What do you need:
soy sauce

dye

stopwatch

glass of water

glass jar with lid

container

What do you need to do:

1. Prepare a glass of water, soy sauce, a pinch of dye, and a stopwatch.
Get the time it takes the dye and the drop of soy sauce to spread in water. Record your
observation.
2. Let some people stand two meters away from the source of perfume.
3. Prepare the stopwatch or watches with seconds.
4. Open the perfume container and record the time it takes the odor to reach the person two
meters away from the source.
