Definition
a generator is a device that converts mechanical energy to electrical
energy for use induction electromagnetic.usually,it is familiar with
powerplant.motors and generators have many similarities, but it is different, the
motors input is electrical energy and the ouput is mechanical energy and if the
generators input is mechanical energy and the output is electrical energy.

2.Generator has two core components, it is rotor and stator.rotor is the

part can moving and stator is the part can not moving. Rotor will be
associated with an electric generator rotating shaft at the center of the
stator . Then the electric generator shaft usually played with the effort
that comes from outside , it is derived from the water turbine and a steam
turbine .

3.Based on the type of electric current is generated , electric

generators can be divided into two kinds , namely electric
generators Alternator ( AC ) and the electric generator dynamo
( DC ) .
GENERATOR AC
In this AC electricity generator there are 2 pieces of stator. Pole - opposite
magnetic poles faced each other so that between the two magnetic poles of the
magnetic field generated . In the magnetic field coils which are easily rotates on
its shaft. Because the coil is always rotate , then the amount of magnetic force
into the coils are also changing

GENERATOR DC
The principle of DC generator have many simillar with AC generator. Their
different only in the DC electrical generator use a split ring called by the
commutator at the output. This commutator induced the electrical currents that
flow to the electrical circuit in the form of DC electric current though the coils
that are in it to produce AC power.
