5 Asset Functionality
In asset functionality process, Pos Malaysia Berhad will concern with the degree
to which the asset is suitable for the delivery of the service. It may change over
the time depends on suitability on the current moments. Pos Malaysia Berhad has
taken a few steps to overcome the problem arose regarding on asset functionality
by retrofitting, refurbishment or upgrading of existing assets; or changing service
delivery methods using other rescues such as Information Technology (IT) vendor
or Human Resources. Practically in any changing or improvement done, it must
involve some amount of money to invest. Yet, the cost also benefit analyses will
assist Pos Malaysia Berhad in assessing alternative solutions to asset
functionality problems.
As we know, Pos Malaysia Berhad was established originally as a government
department named Postal Services Department (PSD). In 1992, Pos Malaysia
Berhad was corporatised and in September 2001, it was listed on the Kuala
Lumpur Stock Exchange. Starting from the transformation of Pos Malysia Berhad,
it started to change its business delivery from postal acitivity to more multi
activities like to collect payment of various bills, renewal of driving licence, POS
Laju, POS
International, Data
Pos, POS
ArRahnu, POS
Digicert, POS
Solutions & POS Online and others.
So, it considered as an old building and lot of their assets does not meet their
intended capacity, location and utilization service delivery requirements.
