For these reasons, they fought a war. Between 1754 and 1763, English soldiers (from America
and England) battled French and Native American soldiers, which is why Americans call it the
French and Indian War. Most other countries call it the Seven Years War. When the fighting
stopped in 1763, America was a very different place.
