 For thousands of years, North America was populated


mainly by Native Americans.
 In the 1500s, Europeans began arriving in North
America; they found a land with many natural resources
and began to claim parts of it.
While the French moved into the North and the Spanish settled in the south and west,
the British founded colonies on the East coast.

 The Seven Years' War was a conflict between France
and Great Britain that began in 1754 as a dispute over
North American land claims in the region around
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This conflict eventually spread
into other parts of world, including Europe, Africa, and
Asia.

 Because the French and Indian were fighting the British in North America.
 The fur trade created economic and military rivalries and alliances between the
Native Americans and the Europeans.
 These alliance between the Natives and Europeans led to their involvement in the
war.
 Native Americans were divided between the French and the British, but most
sided with the French since it profited them more.
