PUBLIC SPEAKING
Greetings and welcome I bid to our guests
_______________________________________, our honourable judges, and my
fellow friends. We are here today for our Public Speaking competition in
conjunction of English Day which will be held today and tomorrow.
*As a start, now I would like to invite our judges and the time keeper to
take their seats.
First, let me introduce to all of you the judges for todays competition. The
first judge is Mr _________________ as a chief judge. The next person beside
him is Mr _________________ as the second judge. The third judge is Mdm
________________ and last but not least the person next to her is Miss
____________________ as the forth judge. The timekeeper for this
competition is Jacylyn Livan
Before we proceed further this morning, do allow me to give a brief
explanation on this competition.Let me read to you the competition rules :
The competition is divided into two sections as follows ;
1. Section 1 Prepared Speech
2. Section 2 Impromptu Speech
For section 1 (Prepared Speech), contestants are to observe the following
rules

The contestants should deliver a prepared speech on a topic of their

choice for 4 to 6 minutes
A warning bell will be sounded at the 5th minute and a final bell at
the 6th minute. Marks will be deducted thereafter.

For section 2 (Impromptu speech), contestants are to observe the

following rules :

The contestants will be given 2 minutes preparation time before

their speech.
The contestants will speak on different topic based on the topic that
they are going to choose from the red box *show them the red box*
The time allocated for the impromptu speech is 3 minutes.
A warning bell will be sounded at the 2nd minute and a final bell at
the 3rd minute. Marks will be deducted thereafter.

The judging criteria for both speeches are on two aspects which are
subject matter and the use of the language. The important things are to
make sure that you know your direction and set a focus for your speech.
Now, we shall start the competition with the first round which is prepared
speech. Lastly, all the judges decisions are final and individual marks will
not be disclosed.
Once again, *I would like to remind all the contestants to finish their
speeches within the time given which is 5 to 6 minutes. Under the
competition rules, marks will be deducted after 6 minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen , as a kind reminder please lower down your voices
and ensure that your mobile phones are switch off or turn into silent
mode. Your consideration is very much appreciated.

short break for 15 minutes to give time to our honourable judges and to
calculate the marks that has been given.

impromptu speech.
For section 2 (Impromptu speech), contestants are to observe the
following rules :

The contestants will be given 2 minutes preparation time before

their speech.
The contestants will speak on different topic based on the topic that

Mohd Shah Bin Yunus, Mr Jemien Bin Ental and Mr Mahathir Bin Mohd
Kamin, our honourable judges, and my fellow friends. We are here today
for our Public Speaking competition in conjunction of English Day which
will be held today and tomorrow.
*For starters,I would like to invite our judges and the time keeper to take
their seats.
First, let me introduce to all of you the judges for todays competition. The
first judge is Mdm ELSIE ANAK ATAU as a chief judge. The next person
beside him is Mr AZARI BIN MASILI as the second judge. The third judge is
Mdm PHYLLISCIA ANAK TOMAN and last but not least the person next to
her is Mr ANDY BIN HAMAN as the forth judge. The timekeeper for this
competition is Sharon Ak George.
Before we proceed further this, do allow me to give a brief explanation on
this competition.Let me read to you the competition rules :

The contestants should deliver a discussion on a topic of their

choice for 4 to 5 minutes
A warning bell will be sounded at the 4th minute and a final bell will
be sounded twice at the 5th minute. Marks will be deducted
thereafter.

Judging criteria.
Once again, *I would like to remind all the contestants to finish their
speeches within the time given which is 5-6 minutes. Under the
competition rules, marks will be deducted after 6minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen , as a kind reminder please lower down your voices
