(vens) CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN EMERGENCY RESPONSE Quick Reference for Teachers Ifyou observe a fire, activate the nearest fire alarm pull station. Notify the office by using the intercom in your classroom or by sending a runner to the office. After sounding the alarm, or hearing one sounded, Evacuate the room, closing all doors and windows. Take your class list with you. {fin buildings A, B or C, leave the building and assemble your students outdoors, in with your students until advised to report to the Evacuation Area or the ail clear is sounded. 4 Earthquake y % % Initiate the duck, cover and hold procedure before evacuating the room. Evacuate only after the shaking has stopped. Teachers do not have to wait for the Room Evacuation alarm to sound before starting the room evacuation procedure. Have the students leave the room in an orderly manner. Ifa isto be left in the room (seriously injured or trapped), hang the red card from the Emergency File on the outside door handle. T-the room is clear (no students or teachers left in the classroom) hang the white card from the Emergency File on the outside door handle. rt with the class to the assigned Evacuation Area and quickly take roll or do a head count to see if any additional students are missing. : ce By tockdown outside when a Lock Down is declared (bell signal and verbal command), move students around you (or your class, if you are with them) into the closest classroom or building. ‘Once inside the building or if you were already in a room when the Lock Down was declared, lock all doors, shut and lock the windows, close window blinds and instruct students to get on the floor, away from doors and windows, Use the classroom intercom to communicate vital information to the office. Call 911 only if you cannot communicate with the office. Do not respond to knocks or voices at the door unless directed by a school administrator or civil authority. Remain with students and await further instructions. Keep students silent to make the room appear vacant. Do not allow students to use cell phones. Do not respond toa fire alarm. Only evacuate when directed to do so by administration or civil authorities.
