2) Isopach mac

PROCEDURE

1) The fixed hole, tracer arm and tracer lens was set up accordingly by the instruction given.
2) A point was marked on the circumference of the drawing and was set up to the starting
point as well as the center of the tracer lens.
3) The tracer lens of the planimeter is placed exactly on the mark made and START key on
the planimeter is pressed. The planimeter display screen was showed 0.
4) The tracer is moved in a clockwise direction on the contour line.
5) MEMO key was pressed when the tracer had reached the starting point of measurement.
The value is recorded.
6) Steps (3) until (5) are repeated for the rest of the contour lines on that contour set.
7) Graph of depth against area was plotted.
8) Capacity of the reservoir are calculated by finding area under the graph.
9) Gross rock volume was calculated manually based on the same isopach map.
10) Gross rock volume from both graphs was compared.
