Students: travelling through this unknown world, looking for a place to live.

Puzzle reasoning: We want the students to get a feel for how it was for the
tribes to not know the
area. They had to learn the area, the resources, and the climate for that area
on their own.
Nowadays, we all know about an area before we travel there with weather
apps and ratings from
others, however, back when the tribes were the primary inhabitants of North
America, they did
not have these luxuries. The puzzle acts as an introductory activity that will
get the students
thinking about problemsolving
and working with others to figure out what is happening. In
addition to this, the puzzle will act as an anticipatory set to get the students
thinking about maps
since it is in the shape of North America.
