November Meeting
Meeting was called to order by
president Cheryl McHone. Holley
Ziglar provided our group
inspiration reading about the way
we touch the lives of our
students. A warm welcome was
extended to our Area 1 Director,
Joy Branham. Eight new
members were introduced to the
group: Amy Rigsby, Amy Kelly,
Abbigail Kincaid, and Jan Zuehlke
were in attendance.
Mrs. Carol McGill, Principal of
Fairmont Elementary School
spoke to our group on legislative
issues and how they affected her
school.
New Business
1.There will be an advanced
Leadership Management Seminar
March 31st-April 1st at
Montgomery Bell State Park.
2. Chapter Yearbook has been
updated. Please let Holley know
of any corrections that need to be
made.
3. Xi-State Scholarship deadline is
2/1/17

4. High school Essay ContestCheck Xi-State website for

details.
5. Check out the Gamma Chapter,
Xi-State and International
websites.
6. Xi state Convention Set for
June 1-3, 2017

opportunities for educators to

Presidents Message
What an outstanding turnout for our
November meeting. In attendance, we
had twenty-two key woman educators
plus three very well behaved children.
Of the women educators in
attendance, we had three special
visitors. We were pleased to have Judy
Sanders a speech pathologist that
works with Kingsport City Schools
joined us Thursday night. Carol
McGill, principal at Fairmont
Elementary in Johnson City, provided
a wonderful program on her school
and current trends in legislation. It was
also very exciting to have our Area 1
Director Joy Branham join us.
