Guiding the Practice
After reading the two novels over several days, will
be Dictator of the Day. As a class we will discuss what
they students believe is positive and negative about
being a leader. We will make a chart, as a class, and
then set it aside while the dictatorship goes on. This will
give the students the experience of what its like to be
dictator and experience the pros and cons of being the
leader. The students will make decisions about our daily
routine in the classroom throughout the day. At the end
of our school day we will discuss pros and cons again of
being the dictator. We will discuss new positive and
negative things the students have experienced.

for their day as dictator. What would they change?
Would they keep anything the same?
