Can I Copy It?

Copyright Ownership allows: exclusive use of the work, this includes reproduction,
alterations, distribution, performance, public display and the right to allow others to do all
previously mentioned.
Use the following guidelines when using any persons material:
Motion Media- 10% of up to 3 minutes
Text Media- 10% or up to 1000 words
Music- lyrics up to 10% but no more than 30 seconds, cant change the melody
Illustrations/Pictures- 10% or 15 images of a published collection or up to 5 images from an
artist
There are 4 Basic Guidelines for Fair Use:
Purpose- What are you using it for? Acceptable uses are teaching, research, and news
reporting
Nature- Why are you using it? Acceptable reasons should include its important to
education
Amount- How much are you using it? Acceptable portions are SMALL in quantity.
Remember the 10% guideline
Effect- What is your desired effect? Acceptable use will not cause you to make money
or entitle you to new ownership
