Grade Three Unit Plan

Giving Thanks and Getting Spooky October 2016 7 classes

Generative Topic: There is a lot to discuss and celebrate thematically in October

and looking at Thanksgiving and Halloween will be the main focus of the month.
Through songs that celebrate Thanksgiving and Halloween, we will refresh
ourselves on 2/4, , and 4/4 time signatures. Through this review we will also
look at how the meter can change within a piece. Melodic literacy will continue
to expand as we look at low la, low so and high do. We will explore
pieces through rhythm, our voices, and instruments to build strong technique
and beautiful arrangements to celebrate the season.
