Generative Topic: As we transition into the cooler months and begin to look at
holidays such as Remembrance Day, and winter celebrations, it is crucial to
begin looking at the meaning behind the music we are making. To assist in our
understanding of the expressive qualities of music we will look at the finer
aspects of dynamics. Our understanding of sol-fa will also be expanded to
include d-r-m, and during this introduction, we will begin to look at how
melodies can move in steps (d-r-m) or skips. Once we are familiar with some
pieces of the season, we will look at how the rhythm is organized to review 2/4
meter. All of this will be done through exploring themes of remembrance,
peace, love, and friendship.
