LJHS Newsletter

It is officially fall, and school and fall sports are taking over. Our fall
break is right around the corner, so the school is gearing up for its
first week off (Fall Break is October 6-10). The first Positive
Behavior Incentive (PBS) is this Friday, which is a day for students.
Students who have not struck out on their behavior plans from all
of their classes, will be invited to attend the PBS incentive which will
be Friday morning to the Auburn Bowling Lanes. The cost is $6 per
student that is due on Thursday. That money pays for two games of
bowling.

I would like to give a for his great sense of humor, and for his focus
big shout out to 1st on his schoolwork that I have seen
dramatically improve lately.

STEM/Robotics

Students in the STEM class are creating a marshmallow catapult out of


popsicle sticks and hot glue. They will be tested on whether or not
their catapult can launch the furthest as well as the accuracy of their
catapult when aiming for a target. The catapults look great, and they
are likely to be very long-ranging and accurate!
Students in the Robotics club need to make sure that they have turned
in the application, & paid their $20 membership fee. The BEST
Robotics competition is steadily approaching. Also, there will be a trip
this Saturday, 9/27 when we will go to Montgomery for a workshop.
We will have a fundraiser to help raise money for the VEX and BEST
competitionsstay tuned for details!

Announcements
We will have a home game this Friday at 7pm against
Woodland. Come support our Indians!!!
P.E. ReminderStudents are required to dress-out TuesdayFriday to receive their daily participation grade.
Many students have incomplete assignments. Please get
your iNow information from the office so that you can see
grades and what they are not turning in. We want to get
assignments turned in ASAP so their grade doesnt diminish.

P.E. with Coach Perry:
Students will play volleyball this week and
students were provided a study guide on the
rules, skills and history of volleyball.
Physical Science with Mrs. Haynes:
Students will have a test on Chapter 2 on
Tuesday, 9/30. Students had a project on
Chemical and Physical Properties that was
due On Monday, 9/22. Many of the
students have not turned them in. I will
accept late projects for a grade reduction.
Life Science with Mrs. Haynes:
Students are beginning Chapter 2 material.
This will probably be the most intense and
detailed chapter we will cover all year.
Please make sure that students are looking
over their class notes regularly, because it is
a LOT of information, and if they do not
look at the material for a weekthey will
fall behind!
Math with Ms. L. Davis:
We will be studying order of operations
with rational numbers this week. They will
have a quiz on Friday.
Geography with Mr. Chenier:
Test on Thursday, 9/25. Chapter 4, Sections
1 & 2. Students will have homework on
9/22-9/24.
World History with Mr. Chenier:
Test on Thursday, 9/25. Chapter 4, Sections
1, 2, and 3. Students will have homework
on 9/23 and 9/24.
