SMART Goal Planning Form for Alaina Philbee 2015-2016

Specific WHO? WHAT?
My first goal is to encourage students to work on homework with parents outside of school and
to keep parents informed and up to date on classroom activities. I plan on creating a monthly
newsletter for parents.
My second goal is to encourage open communication between the parents, students, and myself.
I feel that it is important for communication to be used within the classroom.

Measurement/Assessment HOW?
I will use the newsletter to assess the level of communication within the classroom. I will also
make sure that students and parents feel connected to all material learned in the classroom.
Attainable/Achieve REASONABLE?
In order to achieve this goal, I will work with my grade level team and colleagues to make sure
all important information is contained within the newsletter.

Relevant EXPECTED RESULT?

My expected results are that students will receive more support from parents when it comes to
homework. I expect that parents will be more involved in school and classroom activities.

Timed WHEN?
The end of the school year, and kept track of throughout.
