Learning outcomes :
At the end of this task students should be able to:
i) Analyze and justify suitable design calculation for the case studies.
(CO1:PO5, CO2:PO4)
ii) Diagnose the structural failure and propose execution plan to solve the
damage. (CO2:PO4)
iii) Complete a proper report with introduction, content, conclusion and
references. (CO2:PO4)
TASK 1
Propose the design calculation and problem solving for the given structural layout
plan as shown in Figure 1. Each group is assigned to design the beam and slab
based on the Table 1 below. Every group must provide the complete design of the
reinforced concrete structural elements which includes analysis, design and
detailing.
Marks:

Comment and discuss on Figure 2 below. Identify the possible failure causes and
propose stable repairing techniques. Your report should consist of:
i) Introduction of case studies which stated the diagnostic of failure
ii) Possible causes of the failure with appropriate justification with supporting figures
and diagrams
iii) Repairing plan by considering action to be taken, time and type of cost that would
occur
iv) Conclusion
